2. Non Qualifier, and not eligible to practice, play or receive athletic aid. You have only three years of eligibility unless you satisfy the 80% PTD rule – 14-3.2.1 page 138.

AMATEURISM

Starting August 1, 2007, every student must apply with the NCAA Eligibility Center Amateurism Section.

Therefore, a student that has not applied with the NCAA Eligibility Center will not be eligible for competition during their sophomore or later season of competition until their Amateurism has been completed.

• Eligibility Center STATUS AFFECTS HOW MANY YEARS OF ELIGIBILITY THE STUDENT HAS TO PARTICIPATE IN COLLEGE.

• ALL REGUIREMENTS MUST BE COMPLETE BEFORE GRADUATION FROM HIGH SCHOOL.

• 10 of 16 core course must be completed prior to the start of your senior year starting 2016-17 school year.

• UPDATE THE SCHOOLS 48H YEARLY

• HAVE PROCEDURES ON FILE AT THE Eligibility Center – Grade changes, summer school regulations, night school, lack of payment, and a listing of schools in the county.

• DON’T SEND TRANSCRIPTS TO EARLY. ALWAYS CHECK STUDENTS COURSES FOR GRADE MISTAKES/CHANGES BEFORE SENDING IN A FINAL TRANSCRIPT.

• RELEASE FORM, FEE AND ALL TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE SENT BEFORE THE NCAA WILL PROCESS.

• ACT/SAT scores must be sent from the testing agency to the NCAA Eligibility Center - 9999.

• Students should apply after Sophomore year of High School

HELPFUL HINTS FOR STUDENTS & PARENTS

• Take the ACT or SAT as many times as possible. The NCAA Takes best scores from best ACT or SAT test.

• The Official ACT/SAT score must be sent directly from the Testing Agency 9999 code to the NCAA Eligibility Center

• Have your high school transcript evaluated after every semester by your guidance counselor or athletic director.

• RELEASE FORM, FEE AND ALL TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE SENT BEFORE THE NCAA WILL PROCESS.

August 1, 2016 the core course requirement for NCAA DI will require a student to have 10 core courses complete before the start of their 7th semester of college.

Non Traditional Courses DI & DIIInternet Courses

• Courses taught via the Internet, distance-learning, independent-study, individualized-instruction, correspondence and courses taught by similar means, may be used to satisfy NCAA core-course requirements, if all of the following conditions are satisfied: (Revised: 1/11/00 effective 8/1/00, for those student-athletes first entering a collegiate institution on or after 8/1/00, 1/14/12)

• (a) The course meets all requirements for a core course as defined in Bylaw 14.3.1.2;• (b) The instructor and the student have ongoing access to one another for purposes of teaching, evaluating

and providing assistance to the student throughout the duration of the course; (Revised: 1/15/11 effective 8/1/11, for student-athletes initially enrolling full time in a collegiate institution on or after 8/1/11)

• (c) The instructor and the student have regular interaction with one another for purposes of teaching, evaluating and providing assistance to the student throughout the duration of the course; (Adopted: 1/15/11 effective 8/1/11, for student-athletes initially enrolling full time in a collegiate institution on or after 8/1/11)

• (e) Evaluation of the student's work is conducted by the appropriate academic authorities in accordance with the high school's established academic policies;

Achieve the minimum score of 18 on the ACT or 860 on the SAT (Critical Reading & Math sections) 1 test only.

Achieve a minimum overall high school GPA of 2.000 on a 4.000 scale
