4. STUDY:
(i) PCBs are used to mechanically support and electrically connect electronic
components using conductive pathways, or traces, etched from copper sheets
laminated onto a non conductive substrate. They are rugged, inexpensive. They are highly reliable. They require much more
layout effort and higher initial cost than either wire wrapped or point to point
constructed circuits. But PCBs are much cheaper, faster, and consistent in high
volume production.
(ii) PCB is a thin plate. On which chips and other electronic components are placed. It
consists of one or more boards, often called, Cards or Adapters. It is available in
various thicknesses. It has Lacquer surface finish. It is a component made of one ormore layer of insulating material with electrical conductors. The insulator is made of
various materials. It is also available in various sizes.

(iii) CTV PCB: PCBs for color TVs are extensively used to mechanically support andelectrically connect electronic components using conductive pathways, or traces,
etched from copper sheets laminated onto a non conductive substrate. It is also
available in various popular pre set drill sizes.
(iv) Double Side PCB: It is formed in a predetermined design on the surface of aninsulating base in an accurately repeatable manner. It is a double side PCB. Thisdouble side PCB is fabricated by any of several graphic art processes. It increases the
reliability of equipment. It has less porous surface metallization. It enables faster rise
times. The circuits are formed by a thin layer of conducting material deposited, or
"printed," on the surface of an insulating board called, Substrate. The individualelectronic components are placed on the surface of the substrate. These are soldered
to the interconnecting circuits.
