40A BREAKER CONTROL SWITCHES
Switron Control switches are cam operated switches
which are ideal for use in industrial applications likeTripping and closing operations of circuits breaker
for localRemote /auto-manual selection of breaker
operations. The versatile design of these switchesenables infinite switching combinations. Switron
Control switches are manually operated and robust in
design incorporating double break butt contacts.
Specification:
Switron Control switches comply with IS-6875 Part
I, II, III, 1983 for utilization categories DC II and AC
II. As motor control applications switches comply
with IS 4046 part I & II AC3 category.
Electrical Data:
Thermal Current: 40A
Continuous Current: 32A
Operational Voltage DC/AC: 660Volts.
High Voltage Test: 2.5 KV (R.M.S).
Ambient Temperature: 55oC
Frequency of Operations: 300 cycles/hour
Mechanical life: 1 Million Operations.
Electrical life (AC inductive): 2.5lakh
Operations.
Short Time Withstand Current: 384A. for 1
Sec
Short Circuit Making Capacity: 542A
DC breaking capacity of each contact 2.5A at 250VDC L/R-20 M Sec.
DC breaking capacity can be increased by using
multiple series contacts for specific applications.

BREAKER CONTROL SWITCHES
Breaker control switches are essentially spring return switches having springreturn from either sides of neutral position at 45
o, other switching angles such
as 30o, 60
o, 90
ocan be provided on request. These switches can be provided
with following features.
a) Lost Motion Contacts (NAT & NAC):
In addition to main breaker contacts, lost motion contacts can be provided at rear side of switch
which indicate last operated position of breaker. These contacts are also known as Bell Alarm
contacts. Any number of such NAC & NAT contacts can be provided.
b) Sequence Locking Device:
This is a mechanical device incorporated in the spring return switch which prevents any two
successive operations generally successive closing operations are prevented, keeping trip free.
c) Centre Key Lock:
To prevent unauthorized operation of the switch, center key lock can be provided on the top
switch. It is lockable only in four positions at 90o(0
o, 90
o, 180
o, 270
o) and also at -45
o, +45
o.
Two varieties of locks available:-
Lever lock (L).
Tee type or knob type lock (T).
