He said that people of the country have the right to hold the elected government to the highest standards of trans- parency and accountability. A joint parliamentary commit- tee, a continuous demand by the opposition will establish whether the grave charges made against the government in the Rafale deal are justi- fied or not. He said if BJP government has nothing to fear then they should have no hesitation in allowing JPC enquiry to bring out the truth. Dr Sharma further said that during the last regime Kathua district has most suf- fered due to lack of vision and policies of the BJP govern- ment. While speaking Yuvraj Vikramaditya Singh said that his family has long associa- tion with the area as his father and Sadr-e-Riyasat Dr Karan Singh has twice represented the area in Lok Sabha. He said during last 4 years no major development work has taken place in the area and termed it as the fail- ure of previous MLA & pres- ent MP from BJP in bringing the area on developmental front. Two missing persons traced STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: Police on Tuesday traced two missing persons who have gone missing from the jurisdiction of Thanamandi police station area. As pert the details, a lady from Hasplote village of Thanamandi who was missing since December 13, 2018 and a missing was initiated vide D.D No. 12 has been traced out and handed over to her legal heirs. Other missing person namely Vinod Kumar son of Rama Ram resident of Chatisgarh, who went missing from Thanamandi on March 6, 2014 has also been traced out and missing has been closed vide D.D. Youth nabbed with Chitta STATE TIMES NEWS UDHAMPUR: Police on Tuesday a local youth and recovered 5 gms contraband (Chitta) from his possession. As per the details, on tip off, a police party led by SHO Rehmbal under the supervision of Dy SP (HQ) laid a Naka near Falata in Udhampur and apprehended a youth on sus- picious grounds. During search, police recovered 5gms Chita from him. The youth identified as Dheeraj Sharma son of Mool Raj resident or village Fanthyal in Udhampur was arrested and a case vide FIR No. 41/2019 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered against him. Army organises medical camp STATE TIMES NEWS BANIHAL: A medical camp was organised by the Indian Army at village Sidhani (Rajgarh), Banihal to provide basic medical facilities to the remotely located residents of Rajgarh tehsil. A total of about 295 patients benefited from the medical camp. Alongwith the provision of routine out- patient care and medicines, awareness was also spread regarding positive health practices, family planning and adopting good medical practices, for a healthy life. Patients requiring prolonged and greater level of care were advised to visit higher medical centers for treat- ment. Tehsildar demolishes illegal structure STATE TIMES NEWS KATHUA: Seven inmates of District Jail Kathua have completed/ passed First 45 Days Crash Course in Computer Basics. The course was started some time back in District Jail Kathua as part of the reforma- tive/ skill development activi- ties of Inmates by utilising the services of a qualified (M.B.A) inmate as Course Teacher. The Course focused on teaching Basics of Computer including both theory and practical. A syllabus was thereafter designed for the course. The syllabus included Computer Basic Knowledge, Hardware and Software, Windows and Operating sys- tem and M.S. Word. Twelve inmates were enrolled for the first batch. Nine (09) inmates appeared in the course end examination among which seven inmates passed the course and exam. The successful Inmates were awarded Course Completion Certificates by Superintendent Jail. STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: District Election Officer, Rajouri Mohammed Aijaz Asad on Tuesday chaired a meeting with offi- cers associated with elections to review the election pre- paredness in the district. A multitude of issues like provision of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMFs) at the Polling Stations, imple- mentation of MCC, communi- cation plan, transport plan, security plan, training to polling personnel and SVEEP activities. He also discussed availabili- ty of eminities at the polling stations in all the polling sta- tions for the smooth and has- sle free conduct of general elections 2019. It was informed about the number of polling stations that are without electricity, drinking water, toilet and other basic facilities in the polling stations. It was also informed that the work is in progress by the concerned departments to ensure avail- ability of basic facilities in all the polling stations in the dis- tricts, like constructions of toi- lets by education department, ramps by the PWD and RDD and facilities of drinking water by the PHE department and will be completed within a week's time. While talking about MCC, DEO said the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has come into effect with the announce- ment of dates for General Elections 2019.The officers were asked to ensure strict adherence to guidelines of the MCC and follow them in letter and spirit. It is pertinent to mention here that in order to enforce Model Code of Conduct, video surveillance teams, Video viewing teams and flying squads has been constituted. In order to ensure Assured Minimum facilities at each polling station Assembly con- stituency wise teams have been constituted for physical verification of polling stations and ensuring AMF. According to a report, people of Ghagwal apprehended a thief who came to execute a burglary in a house in Ghagwal locality. As thief entered in the house, a woman saw him and raised alarm, following which locals assem- bled on the spot and caught the thief. Later they handed over the thief to police. KATHUA: Seven inmates ofDistrict Jail Kathua havecompleted/ passed First 45Days Crash Course inComputer Basics.

The course was started sometime back in District JailKathua as part of the reforma-tive/ skill development activi-ties of Inmates by utilising theservices of a qualified (M.B.A)inmate as Course Teacher.

The Course focused onteaching Basics of Computerincluding both theory andpractical. A syllabus wasthereafter designed for the

course. The syllabus includedComputer Basic Knowledge,Hardware and Software,Windows and Operating sys-tem and M.S. Word. Twelveinmates were enrolled for thefirst batch. Nine (09) inmatesappeared in the course endexamination among whichseven inmates passed thecourse and exam.

The successful Inmates wereawarded Course CompletionCertificates by SuperintendentJail. Presently, another batchof Twelve (12) inmates areundergoing 45 days CrashCourse in Computer Basics.
