Readers are requested to verify the contents on their own before acting there upon.” STATE TIMES NEWS RAJOURI: District adminis- tration has initiated a project for construction of buildings for 100 schools in district functioning without building and often facing closure due to bad weather. In an attempt to provide enabling atmos- phere for education in remote and hilly areas 100 schools will be constructed in six months under convergence of various schemes of different departments. A District Level Coordination Committee headed by the DDC and com- prising of officers from Departments of Education, Rural Development, Revenue, PHE and Panchayats has been constituted for weekly monitoring of progress and resolving local issue for con- struction. SDMs will super- vise construction which is being done through Rural Development Department. Education Department has sponsored 45-50per cent funding for the project while remaining funds are being provided under convergence of various schemes. These 100 schools will be construct- ed at an estimated cost of Rs 9 Cr against required funding of Rs 12 Cr out of which Education Department will provide Rs 4.53 Cr. The zone wise schools select- ed for construction of build- ings include three in Rajnagar Zone, 10 in Thanamandi, four in Kalakote, 20 in Koteranka, five in Moughla, three in Doongi, 14 in Darhal, three in Dandesar, nine in Manjakote, one in Nowshera, one in Lower Hathal, nine in Peeri, nine in Baljarallan and nine in Khwas Zone. These schools have a total enrolment of 3,181 during current year and construction of buildings the enrolment, especially of girl students is expected to nearly double. In entire district there are 163 schools without building out of which 100 selected for construction of buildings include 40 located in Rajouri Constituency, 40 in Darhal Constituency, 14 in Kalakote constituency and six in Nowshera Constituency. Schools with enrollment of 20 and above out of 163 build- ing-less schools have been selected for the project to pro- vide buildings this fiscal under convergence of schemes. An independent inter-departmental engineer- ing team will inspect schools for quality of construction. Remaining 63 schools with enrollment below 20 and with- out school buildings will be taken up during second phase of project. Two youth found dead in Nallah STATE TIMES NEWS UDHAMPUR: Majalta police on Monday recov- ered two bodies of local youths from a Nallah in mysterious circumstances. According to a report, Majalta Police recovered two bodies of local youths lying in mysterious cir- cumstances in a Nallah and shifted to PHC Majalta. Bodies were identified as those of Vicky Kumar son of Khajoor Chand resi- dent of village Plater Tehsil Majalta and Rakesh Kumar son of Jabroo Ram resident of Mansar. Both the bodies were handed over to family members of victims after conducting autopsy. Majalta Police has regis- tered case for investiga- tion. STATE TIMES NEWS BANI: On completion of three years in the office by the NDA Government at Centre, the Directorate of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India, Jammu and Kashmir Region has launched an intensive awareness campaign on Special Outreach Programmes being launched by the NDA Government during last three years tenure for the upliftment and betterment of the masses. The awareness campaign on the SOPs has been launched by various Field Publicity Units of DFP in seven identi- fied districts of Jammu and Ladakh region. In this connection, Field Publicity Unit Kathua in close coordination and cooperation with Song and Drama Division of Ministry of I and B, Education, ICDS, Rural Sanitation, Rural Development Department, Agriculture Department, Health Department and Hindustan Petroleum Cooperation Ltd, organised a two days long intensive aware- ness programme on Special Outreach Programmes, Phase - I, at Government Higher Secondary School, Bani Sub District of Kathua District. The programme was presided over by Ajeet Singh, SDM, Bani. Assistant Professor, Sunal Sharma, Incharge Principal, Govt. Degree College, Bani and Mohd Hafiz Sheikh, Principal of the host Institution were the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour on the occasion respectively. STATE TIMES NEWS KATRA: GRP police per- sonnel on Monday restored a minor girl to her parents which was lost at Katra Railway Station. According to a report, GRP police personnel deployed on Railway Station Katra found a minor girl child without her guardian at the platform. On this a thorough search was carried out at the Railway Station Katra in order to trace out the par- ents/guardian of the said girl child. SHO Police Station GRP Katra Inspector Narinder Singh under the supervision of Ranjit Singh Sambyal, SSP Railways Katra put all the efforts by way of announce- ments at Railway Station Katra as well as Railway Station Jammu for having a clue of the parents of the child. The territorial police of Katra was also contacted and informed accordingly so as to trace out the guardian/parents of the baby. The GRP personnel accompanying the trains were also directed to identi- fy the parents of the child in the running trains. Due to the professional approach and timely action taken by the SHO Police Station GRP Katra, the parents of the child were traced who were travelling in the train after leaving behind there two years old minor girl child at the Railway Station Katra inadvertently. GRP restores minor girl to parents Special voter enrolment drive from July 1 STATE TIMES NEWS KISHTWAR: A one month special enrolment drive shall start in Kishtwar from 1st July to enroll the left out voters. Speaking in a meeting held here today in this regard, District Development Commissioner, who is also District Election Officer, GN Balwan, conveyed that as per the direction of Election Commission of India, a special drive to enroll left out electors with focus on first time voters in the age group of 18-21 years shall start from 1st to 31 July, 2017. According to a report, Kuldeep Singh son of Gopal Singh resident of Jakhani Udhampur took some poi- sonous substance in his house to end his life. Victim was shifted to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors declared him brought dead. Police handed over the body to his family members after conducting autopsy and registered a case for investigation.
