When used purposefully dry needling works well in various musculoskeletal and neuro muscular conditions.

Regarding trigger point releaseChaitow compares trigger point with fire
alarm. Trigger points are manifestation of some underline abnormality.
Simply ‘releasing’ the trigger point without treating the underlying cause may not produce long term relief, may produce trigger points elsewhere.
A more complete approach should include postural correction, ergonomics and prevention of overuse.
