*One of the requirements for the manual is to come to a horse show, attend a meeting, pass out ribbons, etc.

HORSELESS HORSE PROJECT

Purpose:

1. Develop an appreciation of horseback riding as a healthy and wholesome form of recreation.

2. Learn horsemanship and an understanding of the business of breeding, raising, and training horses.

3. Increase knowledge of safety precautions to prevent injury to themselves, others, and their mount.

4. Promote greater love for animals and a humane attitude toward them.

5. To be better prepared for citizenship responsibilities through working in groups and supporting communi-ty horse projects and activities.

Project Requirements:

POSTER REQUIREMENTS

1. Each exhibit must have a card in the lower right hand corner giving the following information (unless specified differently in project manual). The card will be furnished.

2. Poster exhibits will be 22” x 28” , unless specified differently in the project manual, and displayed horizon-tally.

3. Poster exhibits may be covered with clear plastic to protect them from being soiled but must be covered if required in the project manual.

4. Posters must be mounted on plywood or heavy cardboard to add stiffness for exhibiting.

5. For suggestions on poster layout and design, contact the County Extension Office for the bulletin “Poster Pointers”.

*If the above requirements are not met, the exhibit will not be judged but received a green participation rib-bon.
