Project Description: Provide prescreening of workers and clinic in Iraq for GCC

Situation Solution Outcome

The client had been awarded a contract to provide food service for the U.S. military in Iraq. In a war torn country, maintaining the wellbeing of over 3600 GCC employees was critical to their support of the efforts of the U.S. military

MedStaff was awarded a contract to provide 8 urgent care clinics from Mosul to Baghdad to service the basic medical needs of the GCC employee base. First aid, Vaccinations, and other treatments were provided for GCC employees.

GCC has successfully supported the food service needs of the U.S. war efforts in Iraq while maintaining the highest level of hygiene and safety for all of their employees.

3. British Petroleum (BP), 2010 On April 20, 2010, an explosion on the Deepwater Horizon rig caused the largest oil spill in U.S. history. For 87 days oil flowed out of the well into the Gulf of Mexico, impacting thousands of citizens of the Gulf states of Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. Thousands of personnel shouldered the task of containing and cleaning up the millions of gallons of oil that threatened their homeland and fishing based economies.

Project Description: Provide onshore and offshore Safety compliance support for BP cleanup efforts

Situation Solution Outcome

Thousands of untrained and inexperienced workers were hired and thrust into clean up duties with little knowledge or training regarding proper OSHA or maritime workplace Safety practices.

MedStaff was awarded a contract to provide on and offshore Safety professionals to manage and oversee daily operations of over 3,000 personnel. Daily safety meetings were held to communicate daily tasks and best work practices. MSI safety professionals were integral in ensuring that all employees were aware of and in compliance with OSHA, State, and Federal Regulations.

For the duration of the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill cleanup, MSI employees were vital in seeing that absolutely ZERO lost time incidents, OSHA recordable injuries occurred, and no OSHA, State, or Federal Regulations were violated. All of the other contractor employees were properly trained and made aware of the hazards they faced before ever beginning a task.

2. Medical Triage/First Aid Station for Atchafalaya River and Mississippi River Flooding, 2011 In the Spring of 2011, the Atchafalaya river began to swell as enormous amounts of water began flooding down the Mississippi river from huge upriver rains and snow runoffs. As the flooding began approaching critical cities in Louisiana, decisions to open spillway dams were made to prevent loss of many critical assets. As a result, thousands of rural communities suffered the loss of home and property at the hands of the flooding waters.

A summary of services provided include:

1. Exam rooms equipped with supplies and medications

2. Cardiac Monitors and ACLS medications and supplies

3. Fixed and Portable O2 delivery systems

4. AED, Pulse Oximeters, and Blood glucose measuring devices

5. 700MHz communication capabilities and alternative power generators

6. Various other EMS equipment and supplies

The On-Site service trailers were staffed with Paramedics with experience in remote and urban area practice. For more on this project, please contact Erik Rogers at 800-259-9771

Project Description: Provide medical support for community and recovery workers affected by the flooding of the Atchafalaya and Mississippi Rivers

Situation Solution Outcome

Hundreds of workers from many locations were put to work on preparing rural communities for the potential flooding disaster once the upriver dams were opened to relieve pressure from the rivers’ banks

MedStaff was called upon to provide on-site medical service trailers for the hundreds of workers during the preparation and rebuilding stages

Many personnel, contractors, citizens of rural communities, and U.S. National Guardsmen utilized the medical services of MSI while securing and protecting their areas

MedStaff, Inc is a Louisiana-based provider of high standard medical and safety staff for onshore, offshore, and remote location operations. Our experience spans multiple industries with the capability to deploy rapidly to meet any 'Safety-Medic' needs. Our goal is to work closely with our clients to develop a culture of Safety Awareness in the workplace with the capabilities and services expected of EMS professionals. With rapid mobilization and an easily scalable work model, we are able to help successfully complete many projects, domestically and internationally, with our clients. As seen in the case studies below, MedStaff can work to assist you in achieving the “Goal Zero” for accidents, OSHA recordable injuries, and an overall safer workplace for your employees. 1. Hurricane Medical Relocation Project Development of a cooperative effort with the State of Louisiana, Cherry Aviation, and MedStaff is currently being put together as an effective way to transport a large number of medical evacuees in the event of a hurricane or other similar mass transport event

Project Description: Develop a high efficiency relocation program for medical evacuees

Situation Solution Outcome

In times of a hurricane, other natural disaster, or any event that requires a large number of medical evacuees to be transported to a safer area to receive proper care, valuable time is lost in trying to get these patients to a medical facility because the amount of transportation capability of local EMS providers is not equipped to handle such a massive number of patient transport

MedStaff has entered a cooperative “Medical Relocation Plan” with the State of Louisiana and Cherry Aviation to have a logistically efficient plan in place to retrieve, transport, and ensure proper medical care for mass numbers of medical evacuees using C-130 cargo aircraft specifically configured for medical use and a highly trained EMT staff

The groundwork for the Medical Relocation Plan is in place and MSI is continuing to work with its’ affiliates to have the finalized plan distributed and prepared for immediate use should such an event occur
