Galatians 4:4&5 “4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.”

Part One:

Intervention

Page 4: “4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under…

InterventionAn “Intervention” is when family and or friends setup a surprise meeting to

confront a person about a serious issue such as drug abuse, alcoholism

or other addiction that is ruining their life. They meet together to lovingly

but firmly confront the person with a united front to motivate the person

into accepting help.

An Intervention• Right Timing• Right People Present• Readiness to Save and NOT Enable• Right Heart Attitude• The Choice exclusively by the person• The Consequences Positive and

Negative

Intervention

Problem of man

hopelessly lost in sin-

Romans 3:23.

Right Timing- Galatians 4:4&5 “4 But

when the fullness of the time had come,

God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born

under the law, 5 to redeem those who

were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.”

Right People Present – God the Father sent His Son because He cared

enough to confront and give us another chance at life- John 3:16… “For God so loved the world that He gave His only

begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him

should not perish but have everlasting life.”

Readiness to Save and not Enable.

God is always ready to save the sinner. He doesn’t enable the

person to continue their destruction; He offers His power to overcome

it. He calls for true repentance not

accommodation.

God’s Heart Attitude is the deepest love

with the truest commitment to your salvation.

Consequences and follow through…

God Positively reinforces with His blessings for

faithfulness and ultimately heaven itself.

God Negatively reinforces

NOT by withholding but by allowing the

person to choose hell instead of heaven.

Part Three:The End of

Intervention

Page 14: “4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under…

The End of Intervention• Sometimes people will accept help

and they end up saved from destruction.• Sometimes they reject it and keep

trying to manipulate people into enabling them.

Page 15: “4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under…

The End of Intervention• Sometimes they just pretend to go

along with the rehab to get out from under the pressure or just long enough to escape the scrutiny of those who care.• Try to blame and make others

responsible to manipulate them and excuse the destructive behavior.

Page 16: “4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under…

The End of Intervention• Blaming Manipulation…

“You can either love me or force me into rehab,

but you can’t do both.”• Blaming Manipulation to Escape

Responsibility… “God can either love me

or send me to hell… but not both.”

Page 17: “4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under…

The End of InterventionThe real question is notwhy a loving God would

send a person to hell but why would a person

choose hell over a loving God.
