Needs Assessments: 4 Basic Questions employs a proven 8-step Needs Assessment process to

facilitate the gathering of information management needs and documenting these needs into a highly effective Implementation Plan resulting in improved Business Decisions. The following 8-steps can be performed within one to eight weeks depending on the complexity of the assessment:

1. Stakeholder Interviews are conducted to document current business and information management processes as well as document areas for improvement.

2. Data Review is performed to assess how data is collected, the formats of the data and where improved data management can be achieved.

3. Systems Review is performed to assess the current information systems that are being utilized and make recommendations on improved information system strategies.

4. Processes Review is performed to document how work is currently being performed as well as the data that is used to make business decisions. Current business processes are then mapped to recommended best practices for information management improvements.

5. Gap Analysis is performed through one or more workshops to garner acceptance as to the ranking and order of the needs as well as identifying recommended solutions.

6. Needs Analysis is performed based upon the findings of the previous five steps. The solutions identified during the Gap Analysis workshop(s) are ranked according to the preferred order of execution and prioritized as to the importance of each solution.

7. Master Plan is developed based upon the ranked and prioritized solutions from the Needs Assessment. We assist in developing realistic budgets that account for not only the capital costs for the solution but the full lifecycle costs for the long-term operation and maintenance.

8.
