Target audience

Page 2: 4 5

This is the audience I had in mind when I was planning and creating my magazine;- 16 to middle aged (this age group tends to

listen to mainstream music quite a lot and have a wide variety of music interests)

- Males and Females as it widens the reader base and makes my magazine easier to market.

- Multicultural as I will include many different artists.

My target audience

Page 3: 4 5

This is Grace, an 18 year old girl who is still at 6th form. She is a bubbly and happy girl who loves to socialise, her friendship group often talks about the latest “tunes” on the charts and celebrity gossip along with other gossip.

Her favourite singer is Beyoncé but she has artists such as Chris brown, Katy Perry, T.I., Usher, Neo, Miley Cyrus on her iPod. Which covers Pop, R&B and HipHop. If you ask her she would say “I listen to anything thsts hot on the charts”

She goes clubbing on occasion and loves going to big concerts when she gets a chance, she loves watching TV programs that shows lives of celebs such as celebrity big brother.

Typical reader profile

I called my magazine INTune which consists of “IN” “Tune”. Tune is a youthful word referring to popular songs, in suggesting in with the time. This attracts youth at a first glance.

The artists I featured are popular mainstream artists such as T.I. , Beyonce which will attract HipHop/R & B fans, Adale and Katy Perry attracts Pop fans.

There’s thought provoking cover lines which will attract girls as its good food for gossip.

Photo of Cassie has a seductive element that will attract teen to middle aged males.

The colour scheme and layout is modern, further attracting youth.

How I attracted the target audience

Page 5: 4 5

I included a mixture of a artists to attract my target audience, Claire to represent pop, Cassie to represent R&B, TDB to represent Hip-hop.

When I expanded on contents I used informal language that teenagers and young adults can relate to “got some mad tunes”.

I have included the intune Twitter at the bottom of the page, this will help attract more people as twitter is popular these days.

In the article I used youthful language to appeal to the target audience, the photo used attracts the male audiences while the gossip included about Miley will attract female audiences. I have used simple sentences as a 18 year old girl would use as the readers can relate better.
