3t Logistics are Transport Experts with a core focus

on Transport Cost Reduction

Global Carrier Manager (GCM) is 3ts transport

management system, it is 100% owned by 3t and is

exclusive to 3t

GCM has been developed by 3t over the last 10 years

Development has been focused using 3t transport

expertise on client requirement

In recent years development has been supplemented

by Nottingham University Maths department working

on multi carrier, multi mode, multi site transport

optimisation

SYSTEMS INTEGRATION

GCM replaces the transport control functionality of your ERP system

The integration is seamless, as if the two systems act as a coordinated whole

Typically the integration includes

1. 3t receive live real time order line information

New, updates, cancellations

2. 3t send back live real time load plan information

3. 3t receive live real time confirmation information and delivery note detail

ORDER RECEIPT AND CONSOLIDATION

Orders are processed by client customer services and received into GCM at order line level

GCM validates order information upon import and flags up any anomalies

GCM imports the order via a two way integration, including

Origin and delivery address Delivery date and time Booking in and special instructions Quantities and pallet dimensions Manufacturing completion times

Orders are consolidated by the above to create deliveries

TRANSPORT PLANNING

The initial planning cycle is fully automated Plans are optimised to achieve the

minimum cost for the required service level Carriers are selected based on service, cost

and availability All loads are reviewed by the planning team All completed plans are automatically

communicated to the chosen carriers we portal

Transport can be planned from a central location or locally at each operation

DESPATCH MANAGEMENT

3t clients can view and access to the despatch / receipt schedule by site via the 3t web portal

Acknowledge load references, carrier names and despatch / receipt times, log an issues

Print off load manifests to match with delivery note paperwork

Confirm quantities and collection times loaded or received

Close the loop in the freight bill audit process

CARRIER MANAGEMENT

All shortlisted carriers undergo a rigorous 3t carrier audit

All carriers sign up to the 3t carrier agreement which includes

Terms and conditions

Fixed rate schedule

Service level requirement

Customer specific procedure including health and safety

Service level is at the forefront of our carrier choice and has cross contract ramifications for the carriers

Carrier performance and service level is managed and monitored through GCM and reported monthly

ISSUE MANAGEMENT

Issues are recorded managed through GCM

Issues are recorded by transport planning, customer service or despatch

Reason code – late, damage, POD

Category – Carrier, despatch customer service

Cost of issue is identified

PALLET MANAGEMENT

Pallet type data stored and maintained in GCM including value of the pallets

Pallets may include any type of handing unit eg chep pallets, top boards, roll cages, tote bins, etc

Pallets tracked on delivery to each of our clients delivery points

Delivered quantities held in table against customers including the value of the pallets

Mechanism for organising pallet collections and receiving pallets back in to GCM crediting the outstanding pallet balances

PROOF OF DELIVERY

POD’s are tracked through GCM

Once a carrier has delivered they have 72hours to upload the POD via the 3t web portal

The POD can then be accessed using client delivery plan numbers

Urgent POD’s can also be requested via the web and returned within 24 hours.

Claused POD’s are identified early and communicated within 24 hours, this helps speed up customer invoicing process.

All POD’s will be returned

We maintain a 95% return rate of POD’s within the time limit

CARRIER INVOICING PROCESS

3t manage all carrier invoices electronically through GCM

GCM reference data includes all carriers tariffs and transactions are priced according to service level, location, size of shipment, inco-terms

All carriers have agreed invoice period – weekly or monthly

“Self bill” appears on the web following the invoice period for carrier to agree within 48 hours

Automated surcharge calculator applying additional carrier charges or credits to the invoice

Fuel surcharge – varying mechanisms and indexes used Maut – flexible application

Exceptional costs may be agreed within 48 hours of the shipment taking place

FINANCE MANAGEMENT

Carriers agree the amount on the web and upload invoice to GCM for the agreed amount

3t central administration check each invoice and authorises for processing

Adjustments that are agreed are processed within GCM to ensure management reports match invoice value to the penny.

GCM accrues invoice by invoice period and detailed accrual reports are produced for the client

Client batches invoices for payment on the web and prints any hardcopies of invoices required
