VIT University, India welcomes you to 3rd QS Summer School Summit

December 5-8, 2016

Hotel ITC - Grand CholaChennai, India

VIT University, established in 1984, has now 32000 students from 54 different countries and from all the states of India. Our dedication and focus towards teaching and research have made us different in the country. Now we are looking at the other top universities of the world to work together.

Quacquarelli Symonds is playing an important role to create competition among the academic institutes all over the world. This competition helps the institutes to improve the quality in teaching learning processes and quality practices in research. I would like to thank QS, Asia for accepting our request to organize the 3rd Summer School Summit in India.

Summer School concept is becoming more and more popular among the universities across the world and their students, because students are learning not only technologies through summer schools, but also it is improving their team spirit, leadership and interpersonal skill. It also builds multidisciplinary and diverse mind set among students which are essential requirements for modern world and society. I am sure the presence and interactions of learned people from across the world in this summit will develop Summer School Activities of India in collaboration with top universities of the world. This will also help to improve the existing quality and

quantity of summer schools in India. VIT University has already included project based learning, research based learning, curriculum for applied learning, fully flexible credit system, digital technologies, individual attention in its academic pro-cesses. Our students are competing with the best students of the world in solving engineering problems. Their performance is quite satisfactory in such global com-petitions; this is the right time for us to strengthen our summer school activities further with the help of best institutes of the world in this regard.

It is my pleasure to welcome the academicians and industry experts from all over the world to the 3rd QS-Summer School Summit jointly organized by VIT University, India and QS, Asia during December 5-7, 2016 in Chennai, India. I would also like to invite you to visit our main campus at Vellore, started in 1984. Vellore itself has a place in India’s history of independence, since it is here that the first movement to free India was initiated by the Vellore Sepoy Mutiny some 200 years back, on 9th July 1806.
