Time Activity Goal

0800 - 0805 New Vocabulary Idenify the New Vocabulary words in the Story.

0805 - 0815 Copy the new Vocabulary words from the Story Idenify their function and use (Noun, Verb, Adjective, Adverb, etc)

0815 - 0835 Read the story to the class. Randomly choose students to read from the story.

0835 - 0840 Discuss Homework Students will write a paragraph of their first day in class.

0840 - Class Dismissed

Nonsense [non-sens] – 1. words or language having little or no sense or meaning. 2. conduct, action, etc., that is senseless, foolish, or absurd: to have tolerated enough nonsense.

Downstairs [doun sterz] ˈ – Adverb 1. down the stairs. 2. to or on a lower floor.

Adjective 3. Also, down·stair. pertaining to or situated on a lower floor, especially the ground floor.

Noun 4. (used with a singular verb) the lower floor or floors of a building: The downstairs is being painted. 5. the stairway designated for use by people descending: Don't try to go up the downstairs.

Vocabulary

Trudge verb [truhj ] (used without object), trudged, trudging. 1. to walk, especially laboriously or wearily: to trudge downstairs.

Chuckle verb [chuhk-uh l] (used without object), chuckled, chuckling. 1. to laugh softly or amusedly, usually with satisfaction: They chuckled at the child's efforts to walk.

Fumble verb [fuhm-buh l] (used without object), fumbled, fumbling. 1. to feel or grope about clumsily: She fumbled in her purse for the keys. 2. Sports. to fumble the ball. (used with object), fumbled, fumbling. 3. to make, handle, etc., clumsily or inefficiently: to fumble an attempt; He fumbled his way through the crowded room. 4. Nervous adjective [nur-vuh s] 1. highly excitable; unnaturally or acutely uneasy or apprehensive: to become nervous under stress. 2. of or relating to the nerves : nervous tension. 3. affecting the nerves : nervous diseases. 4. suffering from, characterized by, or originating in disordered nerves. 5. characterized by or attended with acute uneasiness or apprehension: a nervous moment for us all. 6. having or containing nerves. 7. sinewy or strong.
