Having been involved in the financial services industry for 21 years, Jesmond Mizzi is the Managing Director of Jesmond Mizzi Financial Advisors Limited, a Director of Merill Sicav plc and non-Executive Director of Hili Ventures Limited. He is also a business columnist on The Times and The Sunday Times, and a weekly guest on television programme Flusek.

As head of Transaction Advisory Services at Grant Thornton, George provides finance advisory services, projections, feasibility studies and cost benefit analyses, assistance in the preparation of business plans, business valuations, due diligences and assistance with mergers and acquisitions for a range of private sector and public sector organisations. Prior to joining Grant Thornton George held senior finance roles with the Corinthia group.

During 2013, Prof. Scicluna assumed the chairmanship of the European Investment Bank Board of Governors (EIB), and vice-chairmanship of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Prior to March 2013 he served as a member of the European Parliament (MEP), in the capacity of Vice-Chair of the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (ECON), and a member of the European Statistical Advisory Committee (ESAC). Previous appointments include that of Professor and Head of the Department of Economics at the University of Malta, Chairman of the Malta Financial Services Authority, Chairman of the Malta Council of Economic and Social Development, Board Director of the Central Bank of Malta, and Electoral Commissioner.Prof. Scicluna graduated from the University of Oxford with a Diploma with distinction in politics and economics, from the University of Malta with a First Class Honours BA degree in Economics, and the University of Toronto with a Masters and Doctorate in Economics.

Antoine Briffa is an Investment Manager at Calamatta Cuschieri where he co-manages the CC Euro Equity Fund and the CC Global Balanced Income Fund. In addition, he has gained experience through various senior roles at a top financial institution in Malta. Antoine was also an advisor to a number of local funds and consultant on Financial Derivatives to the United Nations Mission in Kosovo. Antoine holds an M.A in Economics and is a Certified Financial Risk Manager (GARP).

He lectures in Financial Accounting on the under-graduate B.Com course as well as the M.Accountancy (Hons) degree programme besides supervising a number of dissertation students within the faculty.

Cliff is the Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at the Malta Stock Exchange plc., and previously was Head Business and Product Development and Head of Compliance and Market Operations. He has been employed at the Exchange for over 6 years. Cliff comes from a long career in Financial Services, having held executive positions in Branch Management, Public Relations, Marketing and Banking Operations. Cliff has a Henley MBA amongst other academic qualifications.

Simon Zammit is the CEO at the Malta Stock Exchange where he joined back 1991 during the setting up stage of the Exchange. Over the years he has managed various departments including the Central Securities Depository, the Data Operations and IT as well as spearheaded a number of the Exchange’s major projects. These included the implementation of the various transitions in the electronic and remote trading projects undergone by the Exchange. Simon is a Member of the Institute for the Management of Information Systems and holds an MBA from Henley Management College.

Geoffrey Bezzina is executive chairman of the Board responsible for the management and administration of the Office of the Arbiter for Financial Services. The Office of the Arbiter for Financial Services was setup in April 2016. It is autonomous and independent body with powers to mediate, investigate and adjudicate complaints filed by customers against all financial services providers. Since 2002, he was the Director, Consumer Complaints Unit at the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA) and the Authority’s Consumer Complaints Manager. Mr Bezzina has been an official of the MFSA (then Malta Financial Services Centre) since September 1995. He has edited and co-ordinated the Authority’s publications and other media initiatives aimed towards educating the consumer on various aspects of financial services.
