“Aegean Dream’’SHOEXPO İZMİR 2016 discovered young talents with its first International Shoe Design Contest with the theme of‘’Aegean Dream’’.
In the category of men’s shoes, Yiğit İldeş and in the category of women’s shoes, Hazal Karaşah are selected as ‘’The Most Successful Shoe Designer of the Year’’ among 138 designs that were created by 64 young talents.

“BLACK CHARM” at SHOEXPOHakan Akkaya “Genius of Fashion’’ was the
star of the gala night.
After the International Shoe Design Contest on
7th March, 25 designs by Hakan Akkaya were
presented to visitors by his fashion show.
Success StoriesArif Soykal (Bulldozer): ‘’As a manufacturer in İzmir, we are very
pleased with the fair organization which brought local customer besides
foreign investors. We found the opportunity to meet and deal with new
customers at this fair. But we need to see exhibitors from other cities
especially İstanbul among us. But İzmir Fair will get stronger as the
attendance increases. It shouldn’t be forgotten that foreign visitors are
very sensitive with deadlines and price issues. If we obey these two
criteria, customers won’t miss the upcoming shows. ‘’
Mehmet Last Cevat Bulut (Isabel): ‘’This is our first time at
SHOEXPO. month we attended to IF Wedding Fair. We developed
business relations with new customers at that fair. So we expect the
same from SHOEXPO. We can reach to local customers with our own
means but for foreign visitors the only apportunity is fairs. Our goal is
to announce Turkey’s, especially İzmir’s shoe trade to the world and
ensure to be referred as a brand.’’
Zekiye Gövercin (Gaspara): ‘’We have been attending SHOEXPO
since 2010. Every year our foreign customers’ number shows increase.
We have already made export to 27 countries. We are very pleased
with this organization and the fair complex.”
Gökhan Talay: ‘’İZFAŞ provides translaters to develop healthy
communication between exhibitors and foreign investors which is a
well thought detail for Turkish exhibitors. İZFAŞ and sector leaders
do their best to support the fair. Thereupon the right time and right
customer combination will make the organization more successful.
We are very lucky to spend our lives in İzmir, Which is surrounded
with beautiful coastal towns. In my opinion holiday agreement with tour
companies will attract lots of customers.’’

Success StoriesErdem Gülşen (Can Bebe): ‘’This is our first time at SHOEXPO. The
cash shortage in domestic market pushes us to seek foreign customers.
From now on we will participate in fairs to accomplish this goal .’’
Fatih Demir (Fatih Ayakkabı): : ‘’This is our 34th time at the fair and
SHOEXPO is very valuable for us. If we need to make comparison
between past and now, our new fair complex is more modern than
before. We are very pleased with İZFAŞ organisation. This year
Exhibition Supervisors visited leading footwear fairs around the world
and promoted İzmir, footwear manufacturing in İzmir and İzmir Fair.
We saw the result of this devoted work as an increase in the quality and
quantity of visitors. In my opinion new exhibiton center carried us one
step forward. Accomplishing meetings in this professional environment
helps us establish permanent relations with buyers .’’
Serkan Hocaoğlu (Hocaoğlu Shoes): ‘’ Compared to old fair, SHOEXPO
at ‘’fuarizmir’’ is much better. In this professional environment we
also want to build business relations with foreigner investors. Firstly
foreigninvestors want to rely on and we tried hard to make them feel the
faith.’’
Aydoğan Baylan (APEX): ‘’I take part as an exhibitor at this fair which
I visited several times before. When I evaluate as an exhibitor, I can
say that the environment is very professional. I always put designing
first. In my opinion foreigner investors also expect different designs.
This atmosphere will achieve its goals If sector participants are more
professional and selective.’’

FOREIGN INVESTORS PREFER
SHOEXPOMaria Bellucci (Italy): ‘’Our speciality is women and kid shoes.
Every 6 months we attend İstanbul Fair. The Turkish company , that
I’m working with , invited me to this fair. Exhibitors are very friendly.
Your exhibition complex is perfect. Turkey in footwear sector, in
terms of sales market women shoes are quite successful but kids
and women shoes should improve.’’
Dmytro Trambovkin (Ukraine): ‘’Upon the invitation of the organizers
of İZFAŞ, we have decided to come to this fair. Our speciality is
kids shoes. Footwear quality in Turkey is higher than Europe and
the price is reasonable. Turkey is a fast growing country and these
kind of fairs will pave the way. ‘’fuarizmir’’is European standard
organization with its neat and modern facilities. We think you will do
great business in the future.’’
Fawaz Abusharekh (Palestine): ‘’This is our fourth time at
SHOEXPO. Every year we turn back to our country with 70 thousand
dollar deal. We also visit fairs in Italy, Germany and İstanbul.
SHOEXPO is an excellent with its fair complex and organization.
Increasing the number of exhibitors can give better results for the
competition.”
Kuchurin Andriv (Ukraine): ‘’I was invited by İZFAŞ organisers to
this event at one of the fairs that I attended in Russia. I came across
with European standard fair complex and organization. This is my
first time and there are some companies that I have already met. We
requested samples to evaluate.’’
