Making the decision to become a Christ follower is one of the biggest and most important decisions one will make in their life. It is not a decision to take lightly. Jesus warns us to count the cost before following Him. The cost is your life. A christian’s life is no longer their own, but is for Christ. For one to be saved, added to the Lord’s church and identified as a Christian, the Bible tells us one must: Hear the Word of God (Rom. 10:17 ). Have faith in God (Heb. 11:6 ). Repent of your sins (2 Cor. 7:10 ). Confess your faith in Christ (Rom.10:9 ,10 ). Be baptized for the remission of your sins (Acts 2:38 ; Mark 16:16 ). After one becomes a Christian, they must continue to live faithfully to God. Your salvation can be canceled if the costs were not counted before becoming a Christian. Some keys to living faithfully include: Regularly attend the services of the church (Acts 20:7 ; Heb. 10:25 ). Worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:24 Col. 3:17 ). Pray frequently (1 Thess 5:17 ; James 5:16 ). Develop good qualities of your character (Gal. 5:22,23; Eph. 6:13-18; Phil. 4:8; 2 Pet. 1:5-8). Serving in Worship

He Wants You!Making the decision to become a Christ follower is one of the biggest and most important decisions one will make in their life. It is not a decision to take lightly. Thanksgiving BoxesAs part of a Good Samaritan project, we will be collecting food items in October and most of November to create Thanksgiving boxes for Richardsville Elem. families. L2L participants who purchase and donate items may earn points based upon the items donated (listed below). When you donate items, please bring a written list of the items you donated and give to Ryan for him to keep track. Please place your donations on a table in the all-purpose room (ham/turkey in freezer). Items needed are as follows:

Small Turkey or Ham( 15 pts), 2 boxes of stuffing (5 pts), 2 cans of corn (5 pts), 2 cans of peas/green beans (5 pts), 2 boxes of mac & cheese (5 pts), 2 cans of cranberry sauce (5 pts), 2 packs of biscuit mix/box of mix (5 pts), 2 boxes of brownie mix (5 pts) OR box of cake mix and icing (5 pts).

Keepers- Sunday, October 11, I would like to meet immediately after

worship in the all-purpose room with the Keepers participants to discuss the meal on Nov. 14 and the recipe books. Any questions, see Deanna Rogers.

Prayer Request• Debbi Simpson was in the hospital from Saturday-Thursday with was

initially thought to possibly be a heart attack. After multiple test, she was determined to have a small blockage that they are treating with medication.

• Peachie Loafman has been struggling with knee problems.• Nathan Loafman was prescribed new medication that has him

feeling better.• Nick & Marilyn Basham both battled a stomach virus this week, with

Nick missing some days of school.• Steve Croslin will have hip replacement surgery on Dec.21 in

Nashville.• Steve Flora was hospitalized early in the week at Vanderbilt having

10 pounds of fluid removed as they continue to work with him.• Donald Huff returned home from Sky Rehab Thursday. They

suggested putting him in a nursing home, but Flo is going to take care of him at home.
