held under the Chairpersonship of Secretary (Sports), MYA&S on 14th
January, 2015. List of the participants at Annexure — A.
Secretary (Sports), MYAS at the outset welcomed the members and
requested the Secretary General, CFI to present the ACTC plan for the year
2015-16.
The Secretary General, while presenting the schedule of training &
competition for the year 2015-16 explained about the progress made by the
Indian Cyclists at the International level. The ACTC submitted by CFI with an
estimated budgetary requirement of Rs. 5.27Crores was discussed in depth
and approved subject to ceiling of Rs. 3.50Crores, as per the details given
in the standardized format at Annexure - B. CFI was asked to rationalize the
training and competition programme accordingly within the allocated budget.
Secretary (Sports) inquired about the domestic circuit competitions organised
by CFI. Secretary General, CFI informed that circuit competitions for Road
events have been organised on regular basis. However, circuit competitions
for Track events could not be organised due to lack of sponsorship.
Secretary (Sports) desired that CFI should prepare a detailed action plan for
organizing circuit competitions for Track events at zonal level and submit the
same at the earliest. He also said that an amount of Rs. 50.00 Lakhs can be
considered towards prize money from NSDF for organizing 10 Track
competitions during 2015-16.
The issue about engagement of coaches was raised by the Joint Secretary
(Sports). Secretary General, CFI informed that once the Cycling Academy at
I. G. Sports Complex, Delhi becomes functional, services of World renowned
coaches will be provided by the International Cycling Union (UCI). JS
(Sports) desired that Indian Coaches should also be sent for advance training
and certification by the UCI.
JS (Sports) urged CFI to organize community events in cycling in a big way.
Secretary (Sports) stated that a beginning can be made from Delhi. JS
(Sports) also urged CFI to take up with authorities the issue of separate cycle
tracks. This will popularize cycling in the country and reduce pollution.
The meeting was ended with vote of thanks to the chair.
