PRO RECRUITMENT SOLUTIONS

As a specialist international Rec2Rec firm we spend all day speaking to Recruitment Consultants who are either looking to move nationally or internationally. Our screening process is thorough and detailed and therefore our discussions are based around getting all the information needed to decide what locations and what opportunities will be suitable, relevant and career enhancing for you.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE THINGS WE AND OUR CLIENTS LOOK FOR AND WILL ASK YOU: Do you really love being an agency Recruiter? If

you are planning to look for your next opportunity through us the first thing we want to make sure is that you are passionate about agency recruitment and sales i.e. don’t see this as just a job and eventually want to be an internal recruiter.

Do you want to stay local/national or do you want to move internationally? If you want an international move more often than not you will need a degree to obtain the visa unless you have extensive levels of experience or already possess working rights to that place.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE THINGS WE AND OUR CLIENTS LOOK FOR AND WILL ASK YOU: Are you a 360 Recruiter at present?  Can you, and do

you currently, connect with clients by building rapport, winning their trust and providing them with excellent people and customer service? Can you negotiate, are you an expert in your field and do you take pride in delivering strong results with quality placements?

Are you a specialist in what you recruit for?  Most of our clients will want white collar specialists i.e. those who recruit for IT, Risk & Compliance, Legal, Accounting & Finance, Banking, Supply Chain & Procurement, Engineering, etc. We have also had a recent high demand for Property & Construction Recruiters (white collar positions within those disciplines). Irrelevant of what the discipline is we will want to know that you know your niche/specialism inside and out.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE THINGS WE AND OUR CLIENTS LOOK FOR AND WILL ASK YOU: How much have you billed? What are your revenue and placements

figures weekly, monthly, quarterly or yearly? We will work backwards on any figures you give us trying to find out how much of that we can attribute to yourself or those around you. For example is it new business, legacy accounts, what business did you drive yourself and how did you do it. If you can’t talk through your numbers then it raises doubts about how well you have been trained and whether or not you have a grasp on how to run your desk in a quantitative manor. We will also want to know where you sit in relation to the room you are in. We will want to know you are self-aware and competitive with your billing success.

Are you working for a small or big firm? If you have worked for a big firm we will want to know if you can work autonomously without KPI’s and can you create something without the help of a massive team and brand behind you. If you have been in a small firm but are now looking for a big firm we will need to know that you can adapt to a more structured environment where there could be high KPIs. We will also want to know you have been trained properly and will be able to survive in a more competitive environment.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE THINGS WE AND OUR CLIENTS LOOK FOR AND WILL ASK YOU: How many recruitment jobs have you had? The market is

full of tired burnt out recruiters who are only in it because the idea of starting a new career is too frightening for them. If you are planning your career out strategically you really should aim to have a minimum of 2 years in your first recruitment job. If you enter as a graduate and have picked an agency that is for whatever reason not the right place for you then make sure your second job is a success and the right move. Everybody deserves a second chance but when we start to see recruiters who change jobs every year to 18 months it raises alarm bells. Remember for the company you work for your salary is not the only cost that is incurred in hiring you as it can take a firm a long time to get paid from when you first start billing and there are man hours involved in making sure you are successful. Bearing this in mind if you are changing jobs every year companies might see you as too much of a risk.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE THINGS WE AND OUR CLIENTS LOOK FOR AND WILL ASK YOU: What is your reason for leaving your current work place?

Moving internationally is a great reason and recruitment firms will be only too happy to give you a shot but they will want to know why you want to move/that you have done your research on the location and market. Also if you work for a company that could potentially give you an international transfer why are you not doing it with them?

Do you ask the right questions? The above discussion is not all about us getting to know you but you getting to know us as well so we will want to see that you ask the right questions. That you are engaged in the process, that you want to find out more and take advantage of our expertise in the recruitment to recruitment market as this will show to us how serious you are about finding a new position. It can be both an exciting and daunting time looking for a new role so we want to make that as comfortable and easy for you as possible so we appreciate candidates asking more questions than less. There is no such thing as a stupid question!
