Iwas born near Stockholm by Italianfather and Swedish mother. The firsttime I came in contact with art andfashion was as young school girl when Istarted modelling for Emilio Pucci in

Florence, during vacations. Also interested intheatre I started acting at the Royal DramaticTheatre in Stockholm, where my mother hadbeen an actress. At seventeen I moved to Parisand started a career as a fashion model forL’Agence Elite. For several years I lived betweenParis, London, New York and Monte Carlo.

Combining modelling, acting, interior deco-ration and charity work for UNESCO etc.Always interested in all forms of art, I wasalso painting and wrote a screenplay forfilm called “Power and Seduction”. In 2003I had my first Art exposition in Rome atPiazza del Popolo at Edoardo deBlasio’s, and that was the beginning of mycareer as a painter: I consider myself multi

creative and hope to find many differentforms of expressions during my life.Forever in motion my paintings areexpressions of energies existing inthe Universe: a combination of rythm andcolor, emotion and shape, like music oncanvas. Using an instinctive technique I’mtrying to trasmit a language of color andlight to express a profound wish for an illu-minated world.

Peintre française dontles oeuvres sontaussi bien au fusainsur toile que à l’ huileet à l’ acrylique,

exprime ses humeurs et sa sensi-bilité par une matière riche etvivante et par le rythme de sespeintures. Le geste se traduitdans son oeuvre avec beaucoupde force et de générosité. Le mou-vement est souligné par les con-trastes des couleurs, toujoursdominées dans la forme. Si certains rêves peu-vent sembler unefuite devant la vie,Lynn Verlayne (28ans) y a cru aux

siens. A quatorze ans, elle écritdans son journal “ l’école est auplus bas dans mon estime” maisaussi “je voudrais aller à New -York”. Elle s’accroche à cetteidée avec ténacité et y habiteraplus tard, pour accomplir sonrêve d’enfant. Son premieralbum “Drifter” fait découvrirces sept ans passées dans cetteville tumultueuse avec uneenvie folle de se démarquerdans le monde musical. Elle n’aapporté de sa Belgique nata-le que deux valises et son baga-ge culturel : sa formation, com-mencée à la fin des études pri-maires, à l’ensemble de disci-plines musicales,( histoire,

piano et chant). Ses premièreschansons s’inspirent d’un “potpourri” de souvenirs de sonpère décédé prématurément etde son vécu relationnel. Sonpère lui a enseigné la droiture ,les singularités de la vie et laconfiance. Le pensionnat pourLynn est véritablement tragi-que: la rigueur du règlementintérieur la ligotait son inspira-tion, le plus pénible étantles entrainements aupiano... trop limités avecune heure par semaine. Elles’enferme dans la timiditéaccentuée par la disparationde son père. Son voyage auxUSA fut une révélation et lajeune fille réservée a écloscomme un papillon sortant desa chrysalide, C’est cette com-binaison entre le vécu doulou-reux et la joie de sa nouvelle vie

Artiste à la sensibilité àfleur de peau, SylvanaGainier a vécu pendantprès de 18 ans aux États-Unis. Elle travaille

actuellement sûr la côte d Azur, entreMonaco et Menton. Le dessin, la pein-ture, la création sont toute sa vie.“L’art me permet d’exprimer laspiritualité de l’univers. Mestableaux sont comme les petits cail-loux blancs qui ont permis au PetitPoucet de retrouver son chemin dansla forêt: ils sont un fil conducteur delumière, une prière... j’ai découvert,en travaillant avec les enfants plusparticulièrement, que l’expressionartistique à un pouvoir curateur.Il ne s’agit pas seulement de constaterque certains tableaux accrochés auxmurs peuvent influer sur l’humeur. Audelà de l’aspect décoratif, les oeuvresvéhiculent un véritable message,ouvrent des portes, libèrent ou re-donnent le goût de vivre.

J’ai plusieurs palettes d’expres-sion artistique: figuratif, naif,abstait. D’un côté, je me sens prochede Jackson Pollock, de l’ActionPainting, cette « peinture gestuelle »apparue au début des années cinquan-te à New-York, et de l’expressionni-sme abstrait en ce sens où je retran-scris mes pensées et mes sentimentsavec des formes abstraites et des cou-leurs très variées en travaillant latexture et à la matière ainsi que lesgestes créateurs. Lacolère ou l’amour ne se traduisent paspar les mêmes tracés, et une colèreexprimée sur la toile, en devenant exté-rieure, ne présentera plus le mêmecaractère personnel et menaçant”.

Since 2006, TheInternational EmergingFilm Talent Association(IEFTA) supports film-relat-ed creativity in developing

countries. It promotes emerging tal-ent and cultural diversity understand-ing, encourages dialogue betweenfilmmakers. Monaco-based, non-prof-it, NGO, IEFTA promotes festivals,education and development. Its 2007festival in Monte-Carlo over 4 days,showcased 25 films representing 23countries and 11 first-time featurefilmmakers. In 2008, IEFTA launchedthe Global Film Expression initiativeto build a national film industry andtrain young filmmakersn starting inthe Federal Republic of Ethiopia.Project partners include theUniversity of Addis Ababa, theGovernment of Ethiopia, theEmbassies of the USA and India andUNESCO. A detailed plan has beendrafted to conduct film education inEthiopia and develop its film industry.

Today, the GFE provides educational trainingand development assistance for a hard-cur-rency local industry. Over 12 students par-ticipate. Out of this, 4 documentary filmshave been shot. Plans are on continuing edu-cation in Ethiopia since such a small programcan have a huge impact on a struggling econ-omy. why I admire athletestoday: they have to be

disciplined to succeed. In2004, I was named President

of Uzbekistan’s Federation ofRhythmic and Sport Gymnastics, which

staged several highprofile internationalsports tournaments in recent years. Theathletes of the federation won two bronzemedals in the Beijing Olympics, which is avery promising and encouraging start. Youcan imagine my pride and joy for the athle-tes of our federation.

In January 2008, Lola Karimova Tillyaeva:was named Permanent Delegate of theRepublic of Uzbekistan for UNESCO.“Being an ambassador gives me a new inter-national dimension that I want to put to theservice of my homeland” she says. “My newrole as an ambassador gives me a remarka-ble opportunity to promote a better under-standing between people of Europe andAsia, as well as promote Uzbekistan’smagnificent history and unique cultureabroad. People of Uzbekistan take pride inhaving the worldfamous “Pearls of theEast”, the ancient cities of Samarkand,Bukhara and Khiva, and it is my aim totell people of these beautiful pearls where-ver I travel”. At present, for various reasons,certain stereotypes and prejudices regar-ding the East, and the religion of Islam inparticular, as well as its traditions andcustoms, have emerged and are nowsomewhat entrenched in contemporaryWestern society. My profound belief is thatthe diversity of cultures, first and foremost,should contribute to the mutual enrichmentof people, as well as to the promotion oftolerance, mutual respect and peacefulcoexistence. La passion de Severin Wunderman pour JeanCocteau commence par un coup de cœur : en ren-trant chez lui après avoir perçu son salaire d’ap-prenti-horloger (1700 francs belges d’alors), il voitchez un antiquaire un dessin de Cocteau consacré

aux «Enfants terribles» et représentant Jean Marais dans lefilm éponyme. Le dessin coûte 1 600 francs belges… Il “craque”et l’achète. Ce sera la première pièce de sa collection. En 1985,il fonde un musée dédié à l’œuvre de Cocteau et de ses amisartistes à Irvine, en Californie. Il nourrit le projet de faire reve-nir en France une grande partie de sa collection. Ce sera chosefaite moins de vingt ans plus tard : après plusieurs rencontresavec Jean-Claude Guibal, Député-Maire de Menton, SeverinWunderman, songe à faire un dépôt de ses pièces pour unedurée d’environ 10 ans. Jean-Claude Guibal le convainc de

faire donation des œuvres de sacollection et la Ville s’engage àconstruire un musée pour lesaccueillir..
