  • IMPORTANT: The flushing kit can be installed to the outboard from the port or starboard side of the rig-ging housing.

    Port Installation: Cut the hose as shown.

    Starboard Installation: Cutting the hose is not required.

    Assemble as shown. Do not connect the garden hose connector until instructed.

  • Remove the top, front, and rigging housing covers.

    Cut the clamp and plug off from the engine flushing hose.

  • Route the assembled flushing kit through the rigging housing and connect it to the engine flush hose withthe 15.7 mm clamp, P/N 346786.

  • Flushing Procedure

    Trim the outboard to the vertical (down) position. Remove the rigging housing cap and the protective capfrom the quick connect coupler.

    Connect the garden hose connector to the water supply. Push down on the tab to connect it to the quickconnect coupling.

    NOTICETrim the outboard to the vertical (down) position prior to starting the flushing procedure.It is not necessary to run the engine when flushing. If the engine is run when flushing, removethe propeller and run at idle speed only.

  • Flush the engine for a minimum of five minutes.

    Disconnect the garden hose coupler.

    Prior to storage or when use in temperatures below 32 (0 C): Press and hold the relief fitting on thequick connect coupler until all water drains from the flush hose.

    Place the protective cap back onto the quick connect coupler.

    Install the rigging housing cap.

    Store the outboard in the vertical (down position).

    NOTICEIf the outboard must be stored in a tilted position, make SURE the cooling system is drainedcompletely BEFORE tilting.Never place the gearcase higher than the powerhead. Any water remaining in the exhaust pas-sages can run into the cylinders and cause serious damage.
