3. WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED FROM YOUR AUDIENCE FEEDBACK?

GENDER SIMILARITIES AND DIFFERENCES

Page 4: Document3

… While trying to find differences amongst the genders provided (in this case, only males and females responded) I found that I could only find similarities. This is most likely due to the lack of detail asked in the questions and the respondents potentially giving desirable answers or just there simply being no difference in the way males and females viewed this video. I would need a greater sample size to further evaluate this.

EFFECTIVENESS OF THE MUSIC VIDEO

Page 6: Document3

…I found that all respondents would buy the song after watching my music video, all would watch again and all believed that the video was well thought out.

AGE DIFFERENCES

Page 8: Document3

… The age difference I had found amongst the respondents were mainly that those from an older audience are more enthusiastic about the video compared to a younger one. This might be due to the younger audiences potentially being more exposed to ‘modern music and music videos’ which may influence the responses. However, I would need more respondents from older age groups.

THE VIDEO

Page 10: Document3

…Most respondents found the overall video was either good/very good while they found the song choice, editing and video quality ranges from okay/good/very good. Also, people responded to the message behind the video as not really understandable and therefore not completely effective. However, no respondents replies with poor/very poor.

CHANGE ANYTHING?

Page 12: Document3

…When I asked what people would change about the video, I mainly received responses about the quality of the footage and equipment and to have more about the ‘cyberbullying’ message.

MY OVERALL TAKE FROM THE RESPONSESThe target audience of my music video was young people from the ages of 13-

21. I believe that this is the point where majority of teenagers who have experienced modern technology and social media have come across some form of cyberbullying. I wanted young people to be able to personally identify with the character in order to get a powerful message across, if possible. From the responses of the survey, I was able to determine the effectiveness of the music video (including the ‘cyberbullying’ message within) as well as the appearance of the video. This will help me to evaluate my music video. From the feedback, I have been able to determine the way in which people have been effected by the video; they are likely to purchase ‘Fight Song’ and enjoy the video for entertainment purposes. The feedback for this video has also given me advice on what people would like to see in my music video therefore allowing me to improve on my work. I do believe that if I were to re-shoot the video, I would prefer to use better quality equipment, including the backdrop and cameras as well as a better understanding of the editing software in which we used (Premier Pro).

ALSO… If I had received more responses for the video (greater sample size), I would have been able to make a more detailed analysis and come to a concluding judgement for my final video with possible a different answer.
