OBJECTIVE
We will learn how to write equations of a line.

SLOPE – INTERCEPT FORM

WRITING AN EQUATION
WE NEED 2 THINGS IN ORDER TO WRITE AN EQUATION IN SLOPE-INTERCEPT FORM.
y = mx + b
Slope (m)&
y-intercept (b).
![Page 6: 3.5 write and graph equations of lines](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022061223/54c34e4d4a7959e4358b457f/html5/thumbnails/6.jpg)
OBSERVE
Write the equation of a line with slope 3 and y-intercept 6.
m=3b=6.
Plug in m, and b, into the equation: y=mx+b
y=3x+6
![Page 7: 3.5 write and graph equations of lines](https://reader033.vdocuments.us/reader033/viewer/2022061223/54c34e4d4a7959e4358b457f/html5/thumbnails/7.jpg)
CHECKPOINT
Write an equation for the line that has a slope of -3 and a y-intercept of ½.
m=-3b= ½
Plug them in to the formula y=mx+b
y=-3x + ½
