PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

At the completion of this CME activity, registrants will be able to:

• Enhance and expand surgical techniques in cases like breast reconstruction after mastectomy, breast augmentation with absorbable mesh, male breast reduction, and transgender breast augmentation,

• Improve strategies to avoid complications and improve techniques for pre-pectoral implant reconstruction with or without ADM,

• Assess advantages and disadvantages for fat grafting for breast reconstruction and cosmetic breast procedures including the perspective of a breast surgeon,

• Review up to date management of radiation for breast cancer, as well as the implications for immediate or delayed reconstruction,

• Review of the newest flaps in breast reconstruction as alternatives to conventional autologous tissue,

• Update on ALCL and the importance of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment as well as the association with the use of textured breast implants,

• Improve the strategies in management of breast augmentation to maximize the results and minimize complications,

• Improve techniques for shaping the breast in order to correct ptosis as well as satisfy unhappy patients,

• Better able to empathize and communicate with patients who wish to undergo transgender surgery and implement new techniques required,

• Maximize safety during breast reduction as well as improving the results of the surgery

Commercial supporters acknowledge that the Accredited Provider (SESPRS) will make all decisions regarding the disposition and disbursement of commercial support and that the funding received from each company will in no way affect; the identification of CME needs, determination of educational objectives, selection and presentation of content, selection of all persons and organizations that will be in a position to control the content of the CME, selection of educational methods, or evaluation of the activity. Per the ACCME Standards for Commercial Support, the SESPRS will ensure that no commercial support will be used to pay for travel, honoraria, or personal expenses for non-teacher or non-author participants associated with the CME activity. The SESPRS will, as requested, provide documentation detailing the receipt and expenditure of the commercial support. Commercial supporters also agree that no other support of any type, whether financial, travel, speaker’s bureau funding will be provided to a particular faculty member relating to the meeting. The SESPRS will acknowledge all commercial supporters in conference materials in conjunction with the meeting, and in other ways as applicable according to the guidelines of our program.

REGISTRATION FEES AND CANCELLATION POLICYResident registration fees are complimentary with a letter submitted with their registration from their plastic surgery program director. Physicians in their first and second year after residency are eligible for the New Physician rate. Physicians who have more than two years of practice and are not members of SESPRS/ASPS/ASAPS/ISAPS are eligible for Guest Physician rates.

The registration fee for a spouse/companion includes admittance to meals and social functions. Spouses/companions wishing to attend the symposium presentations must register under the “Office Personnel or Nurse” category.

Please register early. Full refunds minus a $50 processing fee will be considered if written notice of cancellation is received by November 1, 2017; a 50 percent refund will be given if written notice of cancellation is received by November 1, 2017. No refund will be given after November 1, 2017.
