THEOLOGY OF THE BODY COURSE: Come and discover God’s original design for us, our call to holi-ness, and our destiny with him in heaven. Using the three “words” of Christ on marriage, St. Pope John Paul (The Great) reveals our true human nature, in the image and likeness of God, as a “communion of per-sons, in the sincere gift of self,” giving us the authentic meaning of our humanity now and in eternal life. Courses start in the new year:

• St. Clair of Assisi Parish (January 9th—March 27th, from 7:00—9:30pm)

• St. Helen Parish (January 10th—March 21st, from 7:00—9:30pm)

• St. Catherine School (January 11th—March 22nd, from 7:00—9:30pm)

Early Registration [before January 6th]: (1) with Data DVD is $75; (2) with Data DVD & Printed Class Notes is $85. Late Registration [after January 6th]: (1) with Data DVD is $85; (2) Data DVD & Printed Class Notes is $95. Audit $25 for returning students only. Register online at rcav.org/tob.

We will have a small service in the chapel and a committal service in the mausoleum on Saturday, November 26th, at 10:00am, at Gardens of Gethsemani, Surrey. STEWARDSHIP REFLECTIONS November 13—33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

“If any one of us does not feel in need of the mercy of God, does not see himself as a sinner, it is better for him not to go to Mass! We go to Mass because we are sinners and we want to receive God’s pardon, to participate in the redemption of Jesus, in his forgiveness.”

- Pope Francis

ANNOUNCEMENTS

CLOSING THE HOLY DOORS AN CONFERRAL OF PAPAL HONOURS: As the Year of Mercy comes to a close, join us for a special celebration on Sunday, November 13th. The Archdiocese of Vancouver will formally close the Holy Door at Ho-ly Rosary Cathedral and conclude the Year of Mercy with a special Mass on Sunday, Novem-ber 13th, at 2:30pm. This will be a joyous occa-sion as dioceses of the world will also close their holy doors. Those known for their service in the Archdiocese of Vancouver will also be recognized on this day as they receive special honours from the Holy Father during an award ceremony. In Pope Francis’ document for the Year of Mercy, he writes, “Mercy is the very foundation of the Church’s life. All of her pastoral activity should be caught up in the tenderness she makes present to believers; nothing in her preaching and in her wit-

ness to the world can be lacking in mercy.” Alt-hough this Jubilee Year is coming to an end, this does not mean that our focus on mercy should end. We are called to be people of mercy at all times by living out the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy in our daily lives. Come mark the end of this Jubilee Year with us. rcav.org/year-of-mercy MEN'S DISCERNMENT NIGHT: Are you discern-ing God’s call for your life? Vocations in Progress for men is an opportunity to meet priests, ask questions, and learn about their life and spirituali-ty. This informal event will include prayer, dinner, and discussion. Join us on Wednesday, Novem-ber 23rd, starting with dinner at 7:00pm, at St. Patrick’s Parish, Vancouver. For more information, visit vocationsvancouver.ca/events/vip/

CRAZY FOR YOU: Vancouver College and Little Flower Academy are proud to present the Tony-Award winning show Crazy for You, a musical ex-traordinaire, from November 26th to December 2nd. A riotously entertaining and spectacular, all-singing, all-dancing tap-tastic show, Crazy for You uncorks the American musical’s classic blend of music, laughter, dancing, sentiment, and showmanship with a freshness and confidence rarely seen on stage! Join us at Vancouver College Kucher Theatre, Van-couver. To purchase tickets, visit crazyforyou.brownpapertickets.com or visit www.vc.bc.ca or www.lfabc.org for more info. MASS OF REMEMBRANCE for those family mem-bers who have passed away during the month and are buried at Gardens of Gethsemani. Join us on Sunday, November 27th, at 2:30pm, in the Evange-list Chapel. Everyone welcome. For more info, visit rccav.org/events

THE TWO WINGS OF CHRISTIANITY: REASON AND FAITH: Is it irrational to believe in the super-natural? Is all that we call true a human construction that only exists relative to us? What is modern sci-entific reason, and how is it limited? We can come to understand many things, through reason. Join Cath-olic After Hours on Monday, November 28th, from 6:15—8:30pm, at the Art Gallery Cafe, downtown Vancouver (enter from patio stairs off Howe Street). The final event of the year will feature interesting op-portunities to meet and socialize with others. Come for casual dinner and a conversation and listen to this presentation. David Klassen has taught philoso-phy at Corpus Christi and at Saint Mark's and will be teaching at Catholic Pacific College in the next term. Daniel Hahn is the previous Coordinator for the Archdiocesan Service and Justice Office and current Client Care Manager at the Credit Counselling Soci-ety.
