Date April 21, 2017 Greetings Dear Patrons, It is our sincere pleasure to invite you to the 31st FOBANATM (Federation of Bangladeshi Associations in North America) Convention, also known as FOBANA 2017, the largest single annual gathering of the Bangladeshis living in North America. This year the annual convention (FOBANA 2017) will take place at the Hyatt Regency, Miami, Florida on October 6,7 and 8, 2017. The FOBANATM mission is to “promote and uphold” the interest of the people of Bangladeshi origin living in North America. It works through membership organizations in each state. The main objectives of each organization are to offer assistance and guidance of all people of Bangladeshi origin, fight discrimination and prejudice against Bangladeshis, promote and highlight the rich culture and heritage of Bangladesh and strengthen ties between North America and Bangladesh. Currently there are over 65 member organizations in FOBANATM and the numbers are growing every year. In addition to a number of cultural programs which are always the highlights of any FOBANATM convention, in 2017 we have plans to organize special forums and seminars focusing on social, technological, medical/health and economic issues of bilateral interest between the two countries – Bangladesh and USA. We plan to invite a number of distinguished speakers, scholars and experts from Bangladesh and North America to participate in the symposia. In addition, we will publish a commemorative magazine to mark the occasion. The host community here is highly excited about the event and eager to show the warm hospitality. The three-day event is expected to draw thousands of people from North America. We would be happy to furnish you with any other background information that you may need. We undoubtedly need your help and support in order to accomplish our goals and objectives. What is FOBANA

FOBANA® is a non-profit, non-political and non-discriminatory, IRS 501c(3) tax-exempt (Tax ID 26-1747615) organization. It was established in 1987.

FOBANA® has been recognized as an umbrella organization where Bangladeshi Americans gather to celebrate their success and introduce their vibrant culture to this multicultural country. Since its inception, FOBANA® has been working tirelessly in North America , far away from our ancestral homeland, to keep our indigenous culture and pass it on to the next generations growing up in the United States and Canada.

FOBANA® has recently received appreciation for its work to assimilate our people with the mainstream of North American people and culture. FOBANA® is a symbol of our hope and aspiration and a unifying force for bringing our communities together and for moving it in forward direction.

FOBANA holds an annual convention hosted by a member organization based in North America. The host organization is given autonomy to work out the details with general guidance from the FOBANA Executive Committee. Bangladesh American Association of GA was selected as the host organizaiton for FOBANA 2013.

FOBANA Mission• Increase the awareness of Bangladeshi culture and heritage to promote peace and harmony in the community. • Provide an opportunity for Bangladeshi-Americans to get together in a fun and exciting environment to highlight contributions of Bangladeshi culture to the diversity in North America. • Recognize the contribution that Bangladeshi-Americans/Canadians make through their many professional, religious, cultural, social, educational, political and civic organizations.

Demographics & GrowthAttendance at FOBANA convention has grown exponentially each year. This event has come to be known as the largest Bangladeshi event in North America. FOBANA event has generated publicity and recognition throughout North America.

Bangladeshi American/Canadian families from all over North America, Bangladeshi businesses, students, scientists, doctors, engineers, intellectuals, over 400 performers from North America and many high profile performers and high profile dignitaries from Bangladesh and North America will attend the event.

Having appropriate license to sale is vendor’s responsibility.8. Stall must be operational with full supply during operation, closing or early closing may cause penalty or fine.9. ‘Staff Entry Ticket’ is part of vendor’s responsibility.10. Vendors must accept approved Food Coupon from the Host Committee11. Each vendor will provide 25 food coupons to the Host Committee 12. FOBANA 2017 reserves right to cancel this contract without prior notice with partial refund of security deposit.

On Behalf of the entire host committee team we THANK YOU for visiting the FOBANA 2017 website and we hope to see you all in FOBANA convention to be held from October 6,7 and 8, 2017 at the Miami Hyatt Regency Hotel. You don’t have to be a member of FOBANA to perform at the convention but we encourage you to be a member and register your organization. Member organizations will have higher priority and preference. You will also be eligible to vote at the Annual General Meeting of FOBANA. Please note,

• Only Registered Organizations will be recognized at the convention • Registration with the Host Committee is a requirement for voting rights at the AGM • You will receive a confirmed 10 or 15 Minutes of performance time on the main stage (Additional rules

by Cultural Committee applies) • All members (new/existing/past) must fill out FOBANA membership form

ALL REGISTRATION MUST be done on or before August 31, 2017 MIDNIGHT with the Registration Chair listed below. Additional rules apply to be a new member of FOBANA. Registration for all FOBANA member organizations (valid/expired/new) Cultural Registration fee $250 plus FOBANA Membership fee $50, total $300. 2017. 4) Individual groups are responsible to provide printed payment receipt to the Stage Manager before the show. 5) Cultural Program will start around 2:00 P.M.; depending on the number of participants and will continue until
