From My Heart… I’m reading through Leviticus right now with much fright and trepidation. I never questioned the authority and sovereignty of God’s word, but whenever I looked at Leviticus I did question its relevance. The Lord has eagerly answered my questions. The old law has shown me my previous state as a hopeless fallen woman, the sin still living in my own heart, and reminded me of my incapacity for reconciliation. The old law was a means for fallen man to reconcile with the Creator, therefore when Christ came and accomplished the purpose of the Law we see the supernatural gracious reconciliation that we could never achieve in our own power. Under the new law, we have been reconciled to our creator and the old law becomes not a merit system to enter heaven, but a beautiful source of wisdom. In the old law, I see glimpses of God’s heart; the attributes he values and the sins, which forced a gap between a father and child. This makes the birth of Christ more than a sweet tale about a baby; it makes it the most pivotal moment in history wherein we went from striving for redemption to salvation through grace. The manger held so much more than a soft sweet baby… the manger held life for the world.

“Don't misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose”. Matthew 5:17 NLT

West Africa remains in a state of unrest. The borders may be closed to missionaries, but the threat of war cannot impede the Gospel. We were able to support a new believers conference. Our native pastors and evangelists traveled to teach and encourage the young believers in our region. The pastor that moved to our region permanently is settling into the village. The local chief is offering free land for him to build his home and a church. Continue to pray for growth among the church and for a heart for evangelism to well up and spill out to the neighboring villages.

The future is bright for our partnership in Botswana! We were able to visit 4 deaf schools and meet with the deaf at a local church. Our team saw students with extremely limited language skills begin to grasp the Gospel. Sixteen people came to Christ during the team’s time in Botswana, and many seeds were planted among children, teenagers, and adults Join us in praying that these seeds will be the beginning of many coming to Christ among the deaf community.
