3.05 dna replication
TRANSCRIPT
For this assignment, you will write an essay describing the production of protein molecules through
transcription and translation. Your essay should include discussions of the following:
DNA
mRNA
RNA polymerase
base pairing
transcription
translation
tRNA
rRNA
ribosomes
amino acids
protein
The Transcription is the process of synthesizing a protein using the (DNA) information from an mRNA
molecule. Transcription uses RNA polymerase. It occurs in the nucleus of the eukaryotic cell. It is similar
to DNA replication because a DNA strand is used to synthesize RNA strands. In the beginning of the
transcription, the DNA and RNA Polymerase are combined and then separate into two strands. Then,
The DNA serves as a strand for the nucleotides to go together to a mRNA strand. When the strand is
formed, Base pairing for the nitrogenous bases is in the uracil. In the beginning of the signal of
transcription, It usually starts transcribing with the RNA polymerase into the mRNA, then mRNA
molecules are completed which means that is the end of the transcription. Translations are the process
in which the ribosome synthesizes the proteins using the mRNA that was produced in the transcription
process. In the nitrogenous bases on the mRNA it interprets the amino acids to assemble to construct
the protein molecules. Translation occurs in the cell’s ribosome. Inside the cell’s cytoplasm, the
ribosomes attaches to mRNA. The codon goes through the ribosome, and then tRNA brings amino acid
into the ribosome. The code of the mRNA is translated when the tRNA carries one type of amino acid.
After that the ribosome and rRNA molecules attaches amino acids to together with the tRNA. When
translation is completed the protein chains continues to develop until the ribosome reaches the mRNA
molecule. In The ribosome it releases the mRNA to form new molecules of proteins.
