Joshua 1:9
“ Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Leaders need courage to make tough decisions; Joshua 1:1-9
God reminded Joshua of his faithfulness to keep all of his promises(vv3;6).
God commanded Joshua to meditate on his words.
God promised to be personally present with Joshua(v9).
We cannot control the outcome of one single day.
Leadership by its very nature inspires people to move in directions they would not otherwise have been willing to take.
Pain avoidance strategy versus trusting the Lord: Numbers 14: 1-10
If we hedge our bets by resisting the prompting of the Spirit and chasing the promises of the world system, our growth will be stunted.
It take courage: Ezekiel 28:6-10
It take courage to stand firm when attacked.
Great leaders exhibit great courage by consistently addressing problems no matter where they are or what they are.
Good versus great leaders
Good leaders: Fix what’s broke. Great leaders: Fix what to others isn’t broke.
Strong leaders need to take calculated risks. Don’t fear failure. Both are back doors to success.
