3 Tips How To Use Your Personal BillboardUse your profile headers on Social Media to build and support your Career Branding

Part of the Career Branding process is to streamline your Social Media profiles, so they all support your brand and and creates recognition across your different platforms.

Your profile picture is of cause a given, and it should show who you are from your best side. It’s okay to have different profile pictures as long as visitors to your profile, can tell it’s you in it. I have on picture I use on Facebook and Instagram, which shows me relaxed on a vacation, and on Twitter and LinkedIn I have what I refer to as my signature picture from a keynote I did.

When it comes to your header pictures on your profile, I suggest you take them into use, as your personal billboard across all your social platforms. Now that you’ve got a great opportunity to personalize and make your social profiles stand out even more, why not do it so they support your career brand in the way possible.

On LinkedIn I suggest you create a header, which include your value statement or brand slogan, a long with your website and logo, if you decide to create one. It’s all about recognition, letting the world know what you stand for and what you bring to the table.

Especially your header on linkedIn can give visitors reason to look further into your profile, and who wouldn’t want headhunters, and other visitors on the hunt for new employees to do that?

In this guide you will see my headers on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. You will get the different dimensions for each of them, and my recommend tools to create your billboards.

Even though your headers aren’t the most important on your profiles, they are a great way to show off your skills, statements etc, for the world to see.

Facebook Profile HeaderMost people choose only to use Facebook for private use, maybe you are one of them? But why not use your profile header to let your Facebook friends know, what it is you do and maybe even can help them with.

If you’re in a situation where you in the hunt for a new job, I’d suggest you create a profile header, that let your network know what you’re capable of doing.

Who knows, maybe they know someone who need someone exactly like you, for a job.

Twitter

Twitter Profile HeaderTo be honest, Twitter isn’t as big in my neck of the woods, as it is in pretty much the rest of the world. I’ve been on Twitter since 2012, but didn’t really begin to use it until last year (2015). I got to say, that I almost feel like I’ve missed out. Since I started using Twitter I’ve connected with a lot of great and inspiring people, and gotten interviews with a few of them, which you can watch on the website.

So, if you’re into twitter and have a following or want to create a following, then help them understand what you do with your personal billboard.
