  • ST. LUKES MISSION & VISION St. Lukes Mission - A community gathered by Jesus to enact faith in love. Childrens Ministries Response: To provide a community for our children to grow in their faith as they experience Jesus love within our ministries. St. Lukes Vision- A church whose focus is Inside-Out & Outside-In Childrens Ministries Response: To take the knowledge and love of Jesus beyond the walls of this church to share and be the good news of Jesus Christ.

  • CHILDRENS MINISTRIES PURPOSE To build a spiritual foundation in each child that lasts a lifetime Provide our St. Lukes written curriculum which covers important Bible stories and biblical truths that teach how to live and love as Jesus because he first loved us. Our scope and sequence extends from two year old through fifth grade. Our children will experience the promise our congregation makes during each baptism: We will surround these children with a community of love and forgiveness that they may grow in their service to others. We will pray for them that they may be true disciples who walk in the way that leads to life eternal.

  • CHILDRENS MINISTRIES 2015-2016 FOCUS Deuteronomy 6:6-7 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Sunday School is the Main Event. Sunday is the start of the week- begin each week by learning about and worshiping God together in a loving Christian community Could this 1 hour of Sunday School be the time where children see Jesus in you and decide to follow him? Partner with families to share and live the Gospel at church, at home, and in our community.

  • CHILDRENS MINISTRIES 2015-2016 FOCUS Our lessons will reflect this emphasis by: Color coding the must-do portions which emphasize the Bible story, prayer and offering. Teachers do not need to feel rushed to complete all the activity options. Focus on developing relationships so learning as a community is at the forefront.

  • 3 RD -5 TH SUNDAY ADVENTURES: ROTATION MODEL Sunday Adventures is a rotation model. What is rotation? Similar to a Bible study, the rotation model allows us to dig a little deeper into familiar Scripture over several Sundays. Each rotation uncovers a different focus while providing hands-on experiences for daily living relevance. There are five rotations in Sunday Adventures: Art, Cooking, Games, Mystery, and Science.

  • 3 RD - 5 TH SUNDAY ADVENTURES: TEACHER VS. SHEPHERD Sunday Adventures is led by volunteer teachers and shepherds. What is the teaching role? Teachers teach the lesson every week. Teachers see a new group of children each week because the children rotate to a new topic. What is a shepherd? Shepherds are adult volunteers that get to know the children and make each child feel special and loved. Shepherds travel with their group of children each week to a new rotation. Teachers and shepherds have different roles but they are part of one team with one purpose. The purpose is to build a spiritual foundation in each child that lasts a lifetime. To accomplish this, teachers and shepherds need to work together to love and support each other.
