ScienceChildren will begin their new topic on Plants. They will look at the needs of plants, compare different types of plants and also have the opportunity to dissect plants and name the different parts.

ICTChildren will develop their Work Processing skills including the use of different tools such as Word Art, Auto shapes, ClipArt and adding images. They will use their skills to write instructions with a link to their Writing in English,

WritingChildren will begin by learning how to write instructions based on their Science topic of Plants and the story Jack and the Beanstalk. They will then write an Adventure Narrative. Spelling: Weekly Spellings will be given and children will be tested. Please refer to the weekly Homework letter

ArtChildren will explore, create and manipulate a variety of different kinds of patterns. Starting with patterns found at home and in the environment, children then move on to study how shapes can be rotated and reflected to create interesting patterns.

PE & French Children will work on a range of Athletics activity to develop their strength and flexibility. In French, we will revise school objects and colours and move on to learning about Months of the Year and Days of the Week.

MusicChildren will learn about rhythmic patterns on unturned percussion via rhythm games and rapping. We also focus on the Music for the concert.

Maths Children will begin to use strategies to

estimate/measure and compare length, mass and temperature.

We will then move on to learning about money, adding different amounts and using practical scenarios to work out the change.

Reading The class story is Jack and the Beanstalk. The book will be read to the class by the teacher and children. Regular discussions about events will take place to increase understanding.
