CAUTION

Do NOT insert the disk in Floppy disk drive and CD-ROM drive for long time. Doing so will cause damage to drive. Do NOT turn off the power during index creation by Chart Portfolio. Doing so may cause a malfunction. Do NOT remove the licence key (eToken). Otherwise a malfunction may occur.

Turn off the power before opening the front cover for confirming licence key (eToken). And do NOT touch the other parts. Otherwise, an electric shock or a malfunction may occur.

1. Entering/Exiting the Chart Portfolio

1.1 Entering the Chart Portfolio (Startup Menu)

1) On the operation panel, turn ON the power by

pressing the [PWR] key.

The Startup menu will be displayed.

2) Move the cursor with the mouse and left-click the

“ ” in the startup menu.

Then, the Chart Portfolio screen will be displayed.

1.2 Entering Chart Portfolio (Navigation & Planning menu)

1) In the normal menu, select [MENU] - [(8) Tool] - [(2) Chart Portfolio] - [(1) Create] in that

order. The Chart Portfolio screen will be displayed.

When Starting Chart Portfolio from the Navigation & Planning Menu

Both Navigation & Planning and Chart Portfolio are running concurrently. When changing

the display from Navigation & Planning to Chart Portfolio, select the following in order.

・ How to change the display from Navigation & Planning to Chart Portfolio

In the Navigation & Planning menu

Select [MENU]-[(8) Tool]-[(2) Chart Portfolio]-[(2) Top Window] in that order.

・ How to change the display from Chart Portfolio to Navigation & Planning

In the Chart Portfolio menu

Select [Tool]-[Change Navigation & Planning] in that order.

[Startup Menu]

Note: • if no operation is conducted for about 10 seconds, the

Navigation & Planning start up screen will be displayedautomatically.

Note: • When Chart Portfolio is started by selecting [Menu] - [(8) Tool] - [(2) Chart Portfolio] - [(1)

Create] from Navigation & Planning, be sure to exit Chart Portfolio before exiting Navigation &Planning.

• It is not possible to select Chart Portfolio when the relative motion mode is selected or the radar image is displayed.

• When a C-MAP Ed.3 chart is installed, Chart Portfolio cannot be started from the Navigation & Planning.

1.3 Exiting the Chart Portfolio

1) Left-click the [Exit] button on the Chart Portfolio main screen

Then, the following confirmation dialog box opens. Left-click the [OK] button to exit the

Chart Portfolio.

If an ARCS chart has been imported/updated, an index (chart management information) is

created after the [Exit] button is pressed. If the power fails and Navigation & Planning

cannot be started, see “Troubleshooting” in page 89.

Do not turn off the power during index creation by Chart Portfolio. Doing so may cause a malfunction.

1.4 Chart Portfolio Screen

The Chart Portfolio main screen consists of the following parts:

• Menus

• Buttons (All button function can be accessible from the menu)

• Chart table display area

1) Menus

Chart:

●[ARCS] - [Import/Regist Chart Permit]:

Opens “Import/Enter Chart Permit” panel for importing and registering the Chart

Permit. (This is an administration tool.) ●[ARCS] - [Regenerate Index]:

Regenerates ADCS index (chart management information). ●[C-MAP Ed.2] - [Regist/Confirm User/Authorization Code]:

Opens the “C-MAP Authorization Wizard” panel for license registration and

confirmation operation. ●[C-MAP Ed.3] - [Order/Regist/Confirm License]:

Opens the “CM93/3 Registration Wizard” panel for license registration and

confirmation operation. ●[C-MAP Ed.3] - [Update Charts]

Opens the “C-MAP Ed.3 Chart Update” panel for chart update operation. ●[Import/Update]:

Starts importing/updating the charts read from the CD-ROM. ●[Abort]: Aborts the importing/updating processing.

●[Exit]: Exits the Chart Portfolio.

Sort:

●[Retry Auto-Detect]: Left-clicking this menu will re-read the charts of the selected type from the CD-ROM.

●Chart types ([S-57], [S-63 (Offline)], [C-MAP Ed.2], [C-MAP Ed.3] or [ARCS]): The charts of the selected type will be displayed in the source/system chart table in the Chart Portfolio main screen.

Edit:

●[Selectable Filter]:

Turns ON/OFF the filtering function. ●[Select All]:

Selects the all cells/zones in the source chart table on the Chart Portfolio main screen.

●[Delete]: Delete the selected cell in the system chart table on the Chart Portfolio main screen.

View:

●[Chart Information]: Shows the detailed cell information of the chart being selected in the source or system chart table on the Chart Portfolio main screen. (For S-57/S-63/C-MAP Ed.2/C-MAP Ed.3)

●[ARCS License Information]: Checks the validity of the ARCS license information and shows the check result.

●[Log]: Displays the log on the right side of the screen during importing/updating process. Other log may be displayed.

●[Last Update]: “Last Update” instead of “Expiry” is displayed in the System Chart column of ARCS. A date of updating by Chart Portfolio is displayed in the “Last Update” column.

●[Expiry]: “Expiry” instead of “Last Update” is displayed in the System Chart column of ARCS. A term of validity of the chart is displayed in the “Expiry” column.

●[View old Edition]: As the latest edition is installed in the system, the older editions will not be displayed in the source chart table. Selecting this menu will show the older editions in the source chart table, and make it possible to use them as desired.

Tool:

●[Selectable Filter]

Filters the source charts to be displayed in the source chart table on the Chart Portfolio main screen.

●[Clear Log] Clears the log.

●[Option] Used to set options for “S-57”, “S-63”, “C-MAP Ed.2”, “C-MAP Ed.3”, “ARCS”, “Boot” and “Advanced” panels.

●[Technical Tool] (An administration tool.)

●[Change Navigation & Planning] This item will be valid when [MENU] - [(8) Tool] - [(2) Chart Portfolio] - [(1) Create] is selected from the Navigation & Planning menu. Chart Portfolio will not be displayed. In order to redisplay the Chart Portfolio, select [MENU] - [(8) Tool] - [(2) Chart Portfolio] - [(2) Top Window] from the Navigation & Planning menu.

Note: ・This is an administration tool. Do not use this menu.

Note:

• [Change Navigation & Planning] will only close the Chart Portfolio display. It will not exit

Chart Portfolio. In order to exit Chart Portfolio, left-click the [Exit] button.

• When C-MAP Ed.3 is installed in the system, it takes approximately 10 seconds for “Option”

panel of “Tool” menu to open after it was selected.

Note:

This function clears all log data. Clearing a part of log data is not supported.

Opens the version “Version” panel.

2) Button functions

Left-clicking this menu will re-read the charts of the selected type from the CD-ROM.

Starts importing/updating the charts.

Aborts the importing/updating processing.

Shows the detailed information of the chart being selected in the source or

system chart table on the Chart Portfolio main screen.

Displays the log on the right side of the screen during importing/updating

process.

Exits the Chart Portfolio.

6. Import/Update of C-MAP Ed.3 by Chart

Portfolio

Note:

• For CM-93/3 Electronic Chart Database (C-MAP Ed.3), an optional CMAP Ed.3 Upgrade

Kit is needed. Please contact our head office, a nearby branch or local office to request

the kit.

• For Navigation Workstation (NWS), an optional CMAP Ed.3 Upgrade Kit for NWS, not

same as for ECDIS, is needed. Please contact our head office, a nearby branch or local

office to request the kit.

• JRC standard ECDIS does not consist of DVD-ROM Drive. But CMAP Company has

promised to supply CMAP Ed.3 with CD-ROM. Please contact chart distributor to request

CMAP Ed.3 with CD-ROM if CMAP Ed.3 with DVD-ROM is supplied.

• For CMAP Ed.3 with DVD-ROM, an optional DVD-ROM Drive Kit is needed. Please

contact our head office, a nearby branch or local office to request the kit.

• Under upgrading CMAP Ed.3, the following items are not functioned. Thank you for

your understanding.

- Relative Motion Mode / Course Up Azimuth Mode

6.1 Checkup of C-MAP Ed.3 Chart

Expiry date of license (e-Token)

The license has an expiry date.

(a) For 60 days before the expiry date of license.

The following message is displayed for 60 days before the expiry date of license.

(b) After the expiry date of license.

The following message is displayed. The chart is displayed only for 15 minutes after it is

started.

6.2 Import of C-MAP Ed.3 Chart

6.2.1. Import of C-MAP Ed.3 chart

1) Insert C-MAP Ed.3 CD-ROM into the CD drive.

2) Select [Sort] - [C-MAP Ed.3] in that order.

C-MAP Ed.3 chart list is displayed.

If C-MAP Ed.3 chart list is not displayed, left-click the [Auto Detect] button.

3) Left-click the [Import/Update] button.

Left-clicking of the [Log] button will show the import result.

4) Check that the import is completed, and then, left-click the [Exit] button to exit Chart

Portfolio.

6.2.2. Acquisition of Permission

1) Select [Tool] - [Option] in that order.

The “Option” panel opens.

2) Left-click the [C-MAP Ed.3] tab, and then, [Order/Regist/Confirm License...] button.

The “Registration Wizard” panel opens.

3) Select [Ordering], and left-click the [Next(N)] button.

4) Select zones or areas, and left-click the [Add->] button. Then left-click the [Next(N)]

button.

5) Insert a blank FD into the FD drive.

6) Check the order information, and left-click the [Save] button.

The “Browse for Folder” panel opens.

Left-click the [Add->] button.

Select zones or areas.

Check the order information.

Check the [Purchase] when buying up.

(Update services not available.)

7) Select the FD drive where the order information will be saved, and left-click the [OK]

button to close the panel.

The name of the saved file is “order.txt”.

8) Send the saved order information (order.txt) to C-MAP by e-mail.

If the e-mail is not available, write down the order information, and send it by fax.

You will have an eToken license issued by C-MAP.

6.2.3. Loading of eToken license

1) Select [Tool] - [Option] in that order.

The “Option” panel opens.

2) Left-click the [C-MAP Ed.3] tab, and then, [Order/Regist/Confirm License...] button.

The “Registration Wizard” panel opens.

3) Select [Regist License], and left-click the [Next(N)] button.

4) Select [Add License from file], and left-click the [Load] button.

The “Select License file” panel opens.

5) Insert the eToken license FD into the FD drive.

6) Select [password.usr], and left-click the [Open(O)] button.

7) Check that the loading is completed, and left-click the [OK] button.

The display returns to the “Registration Wizard” panel.

10) Select [Confirm License], and left-click the [Next(N)] button.

6.2.4. Checking of chart display

1) Left-click [ ] in the startup menu to start Navigation & Planning.

2) Left-click the [MENU] button, and select [(2) Chart] - [(0) Option] - [(1)

S-57/C-MAP/ARCS...] in that order.

If the “World” check box is blank, check it.

4) Left-click the [View 1] tab, and select [C-MAP Ed.3].

6.4 Update of C-MAP Ed.3 Chart by e-mail

6.4.1. Real Time Updating (RTU) service

A Real Time Updating (RTU) service updates the CM-93/3 chart database via an E-mail using a

RTU server.

Update of C-MAP Ed.3 Chart by e-mail

① Create a order file(e.g. JRC eT 30001.ord) by Chart Portfolio and save it to the floppy disk.

② Attach the order file to e-mail, and send it to the RTU Server (E-mail:[email protected]).

③ The e-mail will be automatically treated at the RTU server and the updates will be generated and

replied to you. (e.g. u001x002.ans)

④ Save the update(s) file(s) to the floppy disk or CD-R/RW and update the CM-93/3 chart

database by Chart Portfolio.

6.4.2. Update of C-MAP Ed.3 Chart by e-mail

1) Select [Chart] – [C-MAP Ed.3] – [Update Charts] in that order.

2) Left-click the [Create Chart Update Order to send via E-mail] button.

e-mail size” combo box (d). [Recommended file size : 1.44MB(Floppy)]

7) Left-click the [Create] button.

(E-mail:[email protected]).

The e-mail will be automatically treated at the RTU server and the updates will be

generated and replied to you. (e.g. u001x002.ans)

21) After confirming, click the [close] button in the “Review Updates” panel.

22) Left-click the [Close] button to close the “C-MAP ED.3 Chart Update” panel.

3. Symptom/Cause/Countermeasure (C-MAP Ed.3) Symptom Cause Countermeasure

C-MAP Ed.3 chart is not displayed. eToken license has been Ex-pired.

Register the latest eToken license within the expiration date, and then import C-MAP Ed.3 charts. Refer to the attached document ‘Notice about Alarm Messages of C-MAP Ed.3’

C-MAP Ed.3 chart will not be dis-played, though it has been displayed normally by that time.

Details of contract were changed.

Contact the retailer from whom C-MAP was purchased to check the details of the contract.

eToken panel is displayed in Navigation & Planning or Chart Portfolio, and a password is demanded.

It is an authentication proce-dure when C-MAP security device (eToken) is accessed.

Press Cancel button.

C-MAP security device (eToken) was not recognized.

Press [POWER] to exit software and OS, and then, press [POWER] again to start ECDIS again. It is not necessary to keep [POWER] pressed to turn off the power.

Message “C-MAP Ed.3 : Key device (e-Token) not found” is displayed in Navigation & Planning.

C-MAP security device (eToken) was not connected. Connect the C-MAP security device (eToken).

C-MAP security device (eToken) was not recognized.

Press [POWER] to exit software and OS, and then, press [POWER] again to start ECDIS again. It is not necessary to keep [POWER] pressed to turn off the power.

Message “System detected non response from security device (eToken),and needs to reboot. Please press [POWER] button shutdown.” is displayed in Chart Portfolio.

C-MAP security device (eToken) was not connected. Connect the C-MAP security device (eToken).

“Startup Menu” hang-up.

C-MAP security device (eToken) was not connected. Connect the C-MAP security device (eToken).

eToken license is not registered. The license is send by FAX. Connect chart distributor to request computerized eToken license.

Error code ”error(0xFFFFFFFA)” or ”Error: Bad Authorization Code or file format error” is displayed in log window of Chart Portfolio.

Authorization code is not correct. Reenter the received authorization code.

Chart list is not displayed in Chart Portfolio. “Selectable Filter” was turned ON. Turn OFF “Selectable Filter”.

Message “Insert another C-MAP Ed.2 CD” is displayed in Chart Portfolio.

Licensed zone was not selected. Import/update after selecting the licensed zone.

5. Symptom/Cause/Countermeasure (S-57/63) Symptom Cause Countermeasure

Error code ”error(0x000000xx)”is displayed in log window of Chart Portfolio.

Refer to the attached document ‘Notice about Alarm Messages of S-57’.

Message “There is no licensed chart.” is displayed in Chart Portfolio.

Licensed chart is not contained in this CD-ROM.

Message “Warning SA public key supplied on the ENC media unmatches the pre-installed SA public key.” is displayed in Chart Portfolio.

Different SA Certificate file was selected.

Select SA Certificate file of the data server to import.

Cell permit was not imported.

Different Cell permit was imported.

Cell permit was deleted.

Message “Errors occurred in Decryption! Refer the log to check the detail” is displayed in Chart Portfolio.

License was expired.

Import the correct cell permit.

Even if the latest Cell permit is registered, “Error: Subscription license has expired.” message is appeared.

Expired Cell permits are remaindered. Register the latest Cell permit ater deleting Cell permit. See “Section 3.4 Deleting Cell permit”.

This section explains the details of the alarm information that may appear while C-MAP Ed.3 chart is displayed on

ECDIS. No. Error message Measures to take

1 C-MAP Ed.3 : No license installed. License has not yet been installed. Register the license in Chart Portfolio.

2 C-MAP Ed.3 : One or more licenses expired. Please contact your C-MAP agent for a license renewal.

The license is invalid. The chart is displayed only for 15 minute after it is started. Contact your C-MAP agent to request license renewal.

3 C-MAP Ed.3 : One or more licenses will expire at DD/MM/YYYY. Please contact your C-MAP agent for a license renewal.

C-MAP security device (eToken) cannot be recognized. Press [POWER] to exit the software and OS, and then, press [POWER] again to start the equipment.

5 C-MAP Ed.3 : COM error Com port error was detected. Press [POWER] to exit the software and OS, and then, press [POWER] again to start the equipment.

6 C-MAP Ed.3 : Unknown error An unknown error was detected. Press [POWER] to exit the software and OS, and then, press [POWER] again to start the equipment.

Reference Document: Confirming of C-MAP Ed.3 Chart This document describes the confirming items for correct installation of the C-MAP Ed.3 Chart.

WARNING

Turn off the power before opening the front cover for confirming licence key (eToken). And do NOT touch the other parts. Otherwise, an electric shock or a malfunction may occur.

1. Confirming License Key (e-Token)

(1) Turn off ECDIS by pressing the [PWR] key or the [POWER] key on the operation panel.

The [PWR] or the [POWER] key light will be turned off after the power is off.

(2) Remove the front cover.

(3) Confirm the License Key is installed into the USB port, and also check the System ID of the

installed Key.

(4) After checking, put the front cover on again.

2. Confirming System ID

(1) Press the [PWR] key to turn on ECDIS.

(2) After the [Startup] menu is displayed, click the [Chart Portfolio] button to start Chart Portfolio.

(3) Select [Tool] – [Option] in that order to display the [Option] dialog box.

(4) Click the [C-MAP Ed.3] tab and then the [Order/Regist/Confirm License…] button to display the

[Registration Wizard] dialog box.

(5) Confirm the [System ID:] on the upper right side of the dialog box is same as the [System ID:] of

the key installed into the USB port.

If they are different each other, or the [System ID:] is set as “0”, the license cannot be acquired.

3. Confirming the media

Confirm that the chart-installed media is CD-ROM. If it is DVD-ROM, the charts cannot be used.

Contact a sales representative of the Chart or C-MAP, Inc. to request the CD-ROM version.

4. Confirming Pass of C-MAP Ed.3 Chart

(1) Press the [PWR] key to turn on ECDIS.

(2) After the [Startup] menu is displayed, click the [Chart Portfolio] button to start Chart Portfolio.

(3) Select [Tool] – [Option] in that order to display the [Option] dialog box.

(4) Click the [Advanced] tab and then the [Advanced Option] button to display the [Advanced Option]

dialog box.

(5) Confirm the C-MAP Ed.3 Pass destination in [Source Chart Path] is “D:”

If it is not “D:”, click the […] button to change it into “D.”

5. Confirming expiry date

(1) Click the [Chart Portfolio] button on the [Startup] menu to start Chart Portfolio.

(2) Select [Tool] – [Option] in that order to display the [Option] dialog box.

(3) Click the [C-MAP Ed.3] tab and then the [Order/Regist/Confirm License…] button to display the

[Registration Wizard] dialog box.

(4) Put a check mark in the [Confirm License] and click the [Next] button. Then, the dialog will be

switched.

Confirm the expiry date.

(5) After confirmation, click the [Close] button.

(6) Select [Sort] – [C-MAP Ed.3] in that order.

(7) Click the “[C-MAP Ed.3] System Chart” tab and click the folder under the “CM93 Ed.3” folder.

(8) Confirm the expiry date.

If the charts are expired, contact a sales representative of the Chart or C-MAP, Inc. to update the

subscription.

6. Cleaning by the lens cleaner for CD drive

If the lens of the CD-ROM drive is dirty, the CD cannot be read correctly.

(1) Insert the attached CD-ROM lens cleaner into the CD drive.

(2) After the [Startup] menu is displayed, move the cursor onto it and right-click to display the

[Password] dialog box.

(3) Enter the four digits password “0000” and click the [OK] button to display the [User Maintenance

Menu].

(4) Click the [CD Cleaner] button. Then, the dialog box is displayed and the cleaning starts.

To stop cleaning, click the [OK] button. Perform the cleaning for a few minutes.

7. Selecting C-MAP Ed.3 Chart

Select the chart type displayed on Navigation & Planning.

(1) Press the [PWR] key to turn on ECDIS.

(2) After the [Startup] menu is displayed, click the [Navigation & Planning] button to start Navigation

& Planning.

(3) Select [Menu] - [Chart] – [Option] – [S57/C-MAP/ARCS...] in that order to display the [Chart

Option] dialog box.

(4) Click the [View Common] tab, and put a check mark in [C-MAP Ed.3 Database] list.

Confirm the check mark is inputted.

(5) Click the [View1] tab and put a check mark in ”C-MAP Ed.3.”

(6) Click the [OK] button to close the dialog box.
