HOW IT ALL BEGAN

THE FEAST OF PASSOVER:

on the cross for the sak e o f our s ins. Th is is w hy w e have to WATCH AND

PRAY, and ce lebra te the Passover EVERY WEDNESDAY NIGHT. Many people

th ink that i t is out o f hunger that w e eat bread, banana and groundnut on that

n ight . They are comple t e ly unaw are that i t is in comm emorat ion o f that great

day o f the last supper. An Ef ik adage has i t tha t w hen the cause loses i ts

reason, i t quarre ls . I f you forget w here you had sa lvat ion, you are bound to

stum ble and fa l l . The Passover ce lebra ted by t he Jew s had a beg inn ing and a

reason. Dur ing the t ime o f Abraham, there w as no ce lebra t ion o f t hePassover . In the t ime o f Isaac , there w as no Passover ce lebra t ion. In the

t im e o f Jacob, there w as no Passover ce lebra t ion. Even w hen the Israe l i tes

w ere in Egypt , there w as no Passover .

When d id t he Passover ce lebrat ion begin? I t s ta r ted a f te r four hundred years w hen the Israe l i tes had been under s lavery in Egypt . Th is

Passover s tar t ed a f ter Moses had d isp layed a l l h is mirac les before Pharaoh,

but Pharaoh re fused to le t the Israe l i tes go out o f Egypt . When a l l avenues to

Today is that day our Lord Jesus Chr is t o f fered that s t a tem ent t h is

same day. Th is was t o make you know that th is Passover was not

prepared in church or prayer houses nor in the bush, but He s imply

to ld t he d isc ip les to go to t he c i t y and to a c er ta in man 's house. Bread

w as not tak en w i th t hem. Where do you th ink t he bread for the feast o f

Passover w i l l come f rom? Again He sa id "he w ho eats w i th m e in the

same d ish" , and I ask , do you eat bread in the d ish w i th

people? Whi le w e are here the Passover is being prepared and you

have par taken o f t he Passover w i th Him . He said , "w hosoever

there fore sha l l b reak one o f t hese least com mandment s , and sha l l

teac h men so, he shal l be ca l led t he least in t he K ingdom of heaven:

Th is feast is not ce lebra ted because w e have money, or because w e

are w or thy , i t i s not per formed for our w e l l be ing, but i t i s done for a

remembrance and a lso for peop le w ho w ere not t here that day to k now

w hat happened. I t i s sa id that w hen one sees the corpse, def in i te ly

tears must c ome out o f the eyes. You can now see t hat He w as not

cruc i f ied on Fr iday but THURSDAY to avo id tumul t . You wi l l a lso note

that th is Passover w as not prepared on that Wednesday but in

of th i s feast at 5 p.m. or 6 p.m., i t i s not t he Passover. I f a man dies onMonday and w hen you want to rem ember h im, you do i t on Tuesday,

th is quest ion as asked by the Jew s and Greeks but regard i t as asked

going to prepare t he Passover? The son of man is going int o His g lory

and are w e not t o prepare the Passover? I t i s not c a l l ing Jesus, Jesus,

w here the Passover w i l l be prepared? The d i rec t answ er is that you

should go in to t he c i t y and enter in to a cer t a in man 's house and make

him know that t he teacher w ants a p lace prepared for the Passover .
