3 Cricket I know some of the basic rules of Cricket. I am able to catch a tennis ball with some success. I am able to retrieve a ball at a jogging pace. I am able to demonstrate a forward defence shot in a passive situation. I know how to bowl, but my technique lacks accuracy. I can identify some of the strengths and weaknesses in my performance. I can follow instructions for a warm- up and cool-down safely. I know that exercise is important for a healthy lifestyle. 3c = 2 of the criteria met– from 2 colours! 3b = 4 of the criteria met- from 3 colours! 3a = All of the criteria met, Well done move on to level 4! I am able to catch a tennis ball with some success.

I know some of the basic rules of Cricket. I am able to catch a wind ball coming to

me from various heights. Occasionally I drop a catch.

I am able to retrieve a ball while running and attempt to return it.

I am able to demonstrate a forward defence shot and front foot drive in a passive situation.

I know how to bowl, but can only do this at a slow pace or a standing start.

I can lead a warm-up and session for a small group of people suitable for cricket.

I can use some of the correct technique terms to improve performance.

I understand the importance of exercise for a healthy lifestyle.

4c = 2 of the criteria met – from 2 colours!

4b = 4 of the criteria met – from 3 colours!

I am able to catch a cricket ball with some success, when delivered at different speeds.

I am able to retrieve a ball when it is moving away from or towards me and return it with some success.

I can demonstrate some batting strokes while in a pressure situation, though my technique can be inconsistent.

I know how to bowl. I am able to use a run up and bowl with accuracy.

I can identify strengths and weaknesses of mine and thers performaces, giving feedback to improve on this.

I am able to lead a safe warm-up and cool-down, stretching the correct areas of the body for cricket.

I can explain why exercise is important to my health and fitness.

I am able to retrieve a ball when it is moving away or towards me. When returning the ball, I am usually accurate.

I use the correct bowling technique and I can bowl with accuracy and control.

I know the rules of Cricket and rarely make mistakes and can apply these when umpiring a full sided game.

I am able to catch a cricket ball with confidence when delivered from a variety of heights and speeds.

I am able to retrieve a ball when it is moving away or towards me.When returning the ball, I am usually accurate (as for level 6).

I can demonstrate a variety of battling strokes while in a pressure situation.

Two or three of my strokes are technically correct. I can demonstrate different types of bowling and I

can bowl using a variety of speed, spin and direction I can identify strengths and weaknesses in a team

performance. I am effective in the game situation. I can lead warm-ups and design skill practices

appropriate for the lesson content I can describe how cricket benefits health and fitness

and can share this information with a small group.
