Dear Parents and Care Givers What a busy end to the term we are experiencing!
Week 7 at Gosnells Primary School was Science Week. Children had an amazing opportunity to participate in a Scitech Incursion around the theme – Destination Moon – More Missions, More Science. The week concluded with an extensive display of student work in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM). It was also an opportunity for our
Junior Choir to perform for the first time, something they did amazingly well singing a ‘Space Medley’. A huge thanks to Mrs Anthony for all the work she put into organising Science Week, to Miss Johnson for the work she continues to put into developing our Junior Choir and to all classroom teachers for their contribution to the STEAM Fair.
Harmony Day is celebrated across the world on 21 March each year. This year, at Gosnells Primary School, we acknowledged the important messages of Harmony Day at our assembly last Friday. It was absolutely fantastic seeing all our children dressed proudly in the traditional outfits of their home country. We are extremely proud of our multicultural school, in particular the way in which all cultures are treated equally and get along so well together. A special thanks to Mrs Eddington and Ms McNally for the work they did with Room 2 students to entertain us through song – celebrating both the diverse and harmonious community we have created. I would also like to congratulate all the boys and girls who represented Gosnells Primary with Pride at the annual T20 Blast School Cup for Southern River Sports Association Schools recently. Our boys came away victorious in the B Division section of the carnival once again and our girls finished a very credible second in their competition. More
important than these outstanding results, all students behaved in a manner that epitomises our behaviour expectations of Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Respectful and Be Better. I would like to thank Miss Paskos, Mr Price, Mrs Edgelow and Miss Williams for supervising our students on the day, giving them the opportunity to represent their school in such a positive way. A final reminder to parents to return their requested times for Parent Teacher Interviews to their child’s classroom teacher. Confirmation of Interview Times will be sent home this Friday with Parent – Teacher Interviews on Tuesday 9 April. Please be aware that the school will be closed for instruction from 11:00am on this day. Parents are asked to ensure they have arrangements in place for the collection of their children at this time. Parents are invited to join staff and students for the drawing of the P&C Easter Raffle on Wednesday 10 April at 1:45pm. The ANZAC Recognition Ceremony at Gosnells Primary School is probably the single most important event we hold each year. Miss Johnson has once again been busy behind the scenes preparing a ceremony that is fitting of the most important day on the Australian Calendar. Please make every effort to attend our ceremony on Friday 12 April commencing promptly at 9:00am. Regards
Craig
