Position Assistance System

NAVIGATION FOR MAGAZINER VNA FORKLIFT TRUCKS

In case of interleaving operation, the optimum route to a

further distant target shall be routed via an intermediate lift

height at which the maximum driving speed is permissible.

The Position Assistance System also automatically imple-

ments these complex driving profi les. As in case of the single

operation, the driver can choose between an automatic or

manual fine positioning in the immediate target environ-

ment, depending on whether he wants to reach the target

exactly or save a few seconds on the last meters.

For VNA trucks, the following applies: The higher the load is

l ifted, the further the driving speed must be reduced. The

Position Assistance System therefore calculates driving pro-

fi les which provide the longest possible traveling distances

with the cabin lowered. In the case of a single operation, the

optimum lift activation point is computed. At this waypoint,

l ifting must be activated to reach the target in pure diagonal

travel. The system realizes this driving profi le automatically

and travels the load on the fastest route to the target.

The newly developed Position Assistance System leads to a

The driver's job is made easier, the error rate drops and the
