The Mission of Holy Family Catholic Parish is to be a welcoming faith community grounded in Gospel values and dedicated to

Our Master Plan development initiative is gaining traction as we begin this week with our presentations, consultations and survey with the parishioners about seeing what our parish is now and determining what it will be in the future. Soderstrom Architects will be presenting to us the current assessment of the Holy Family campus and will be offering initial ideas for us to think about on how we proceed with this amazing project. I encourage everyone to participate and be involved in this pro-cess because all of us are stakeholders of our community. We are part of Holy Family and everyone has a say in what happens with our community. We will have presentations offered after every mass on the weekends of January 13/14 and 20/21 so that everyone can have an opportunity to partic-ipate. I once again extend my gratitude to Julie and Bill Reiersgaard, Darlene Benjamin and Gene and Betty Feltz for their generosity to fund the costs of our Master Plan. I would also like to thank the Master Plan Task Force for their amazing work to prepare the process for us in the last six months. The Master Plan Task Force is composed of parish-ioners and school parents with different specialties and exper-tise to help us in the planning and organizing of this project. Lori Bauman chairs it. She is a lawyer by profession and has been part of the previous Master Plan committee that built the church in the 90’s. She has three grown children that attend-ed the school and she has served on the SAC (School Advi-sory Council) in the past. The other members are Gene Dieringer, Andrew Smidt, Mike McQuillin, Peter Perrin, Joe

Danna, Aaron Sundholm, Suzanne Cooney, Don Lee and Ma-rianne Gunderson. We also have Loretta Wiltgen (Principal), Bert Morrison (Facility Manager), Rebecca Brandt (Development) and Judy Poe (Admin Chair) as ex-officio members. Gene is a life-long parishioner and a HFCS alumni class of

‘75. His background is Commercial and Residential Real Es-

tate Investment and Management. Andrew is a parishioner

and a current SAC member. He has 40 years of experience in

the school system and administration serving as a teacher,

principal and superintendent during that time. Mike is both a

parishioner and a school parent. He is a current member of

the Admin Council and a Trustee of HF Knights of Columbus.

His background is Construction Engineering and Industrial

Construction. Peter is also an active parishioner and school

parent. His background is in construction and real estate de-

velopment. Joe Danna is a longtime parishioner and a suc-

cessful businessman and owner. He is also an active member

of the Grotto Executive Board and been part of the master

planning of the Grotto. Aaron is a parishioner and a school

parent. He represents our young families having three young

children. His background is Medical Research. Suzanne is a

parishioner and a school parent. She has been an active part

of HF CYO. Her background is in marketing. Don Lee is a pa-

rishioner and a school parent. He is an Architect and has a

vast experience in his profession. Marianne Gunderson is a

lifelong parishioner, alumni and a parent alumni as well. Her

background is accounting. We are blessed to have these

amazing and talented people to help guide us in our master

planning efforts.

Catholic Charities' Celebration of Hope

Saturday, March 10, 2018 6:00 PM Oregon Convention Center

A key focus for Catholic Charities is providing and preserving home for families in our community. We develop housing solu-tions for nearly two thousand Oregonians, including children and seniors. We also work to help families stay housed, espe-cially those at risk of homelessness. We're a place for people to seek the help they need and the hope they deserve. We can be that place because of you. Join us for Celebration of Hope to honor the successes of our clients, thank our generous supporters, and look to the future with excitement of opportunity. We will celebrate with a cock-tail hour for socializing, a delicious dinner, an exciting auction, and most importantly, stories of hope from the amazing clients whom you've helped serve.

SUNDAY’S GOSPEL

January 14th — John 1:35-42

We hear today how Jesus called his first followers, his first disciples. One of them was Simon. Jesus told him he would be called Peter, a Greek word meaning “rock”. One day the Church would be built on the rocklike faith of Peter.

If you could spend a whole day with Jesus, what would you do?

Car Break-ins Please be sure to secure all your valuables out of sight when parked at Holy Family. Recently several cars have had windows smashed out and items stolen. Not only has this occurred in our gym parking lot, but also in front of the Parish Center Office. If you experience this unfortunate situation please call the police and report it so they will add more patrols to Holy Family. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
