International Student Conference in Tourism Research
(ISCONTOUR 2014)
5 – 6 May 2014
IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems, Austria
Tourism is one of the most important industries, contributing an estimated 5% to the
worldwide gross domestic product (GDP) and creating thousands of jobs in the service
industries associated with tourism. Universities and Universities of Applied Sciences play a
major role in both the tourism education as well as the knowledge transfer between academia
and practitioners from the industry.
The aim of the International Student Conference in Tourism Research is to offer students
a unique platform to present their outstanding research and to establish a mutual knowledge
transfer forum for attendees from academia, industry, government and other organisations.
More than 200 delegates from 18 different nations attended the 1st International Student
Conference in Tourism Research.
The annual conference, which is jointly organised by the IMC University of Applied
Sciences Krems and the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, will take place
alternatively at the locations Salzburg and Krems. The conference chairs are Prof. (FH) Dr.
Roman Egger (Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, Austria) and Prof. (FH) Mag.
Christian Maurer (University of Applied Sciences Krems, Austria).
The target audiences include international students, graduates, teachers and lecturers from
the field of tourism and leisure management as well as companies and anyone interested in the
conference topic areas.

context:
• Marketing & Management

• Information and Communication Technologies
