Dear Parents/Guardians,
As an extension to the SBA writing on 'My Favourite Animal' that was completed last term, we will be having a "Show and Tell" practice session for the boys this term in Week 5. This session is an opportunity for your son/ward to speak in front of his teacher and classmates. The topic, guiding questions and a graphic organizer are provided with this letter. Please use them to guide your son/ward at home. Your son/ward's English teacher will provide the necessary feedback. Please note that there will be NO grading for this "Show and Tell" task for this term.
The topic is 'My Favourite Animal' .
In preparation for the Show and Tell, he has to:
1. write a simple draft based on the above questions (minimum of 5 sentences) 2. make an attempt to memorize his presentation 3. practise presenting in front of parents and family with a toy or a picture ofhis favourite
animal. 4. bring a toy or a picture ofhis favourite animal to school (if possible) on the day of Show
and Tell
*Do note that we do not require any preparation of Power Point Slides.
We look forward to your son's presentation.
Yours sincerely,

SAMPLE TEXT
My favourite animal is the tiger. It is the biggest in the cat family. We can find a
tiger in the jungle.
It has a soft and thick coat of fur which is orange in colour with black stripes. It has
strong jaws and sharp teeth. Its claws are sharp and long too. A tiger hunts for its
prey. It usually eats fish and meat.
Do you know that a tiger can see very well at night? A tiger's night vision is six
times better than humans. A tiger can swim very well too.
