Term 4 Week 1 28 October 2011 Kia Ora Koutou The term break was certainly not what we had expected with the tragic news of the death of our much loved teacher Marie Watts, in a car accident. Marie was travelling to Christchurch and was involved in a fatal car accident. Salford School Board of Trustees, staff and wider community were shocked and saddened by this tragic event. Marie was a genuine, w arm and caring person. She was a dedicated teacher and provided her 5 year old students with a loving, calm caring manner. Marie will be remembered for her kindness and generosity, and always being concerned for others. We have a tribute book in the foyer for anyone who would like to write a message to the Watts family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them at this very sad and difficult time. Our thoughts are also with the McCormack whanau in the loss of their baby boy from a cot death. As a community it will be the strength and sup- port of us all that will make the days ahead a little easier. Thank you all for the kind messages and support at this time, the staff have greatly appreciated your thoughts. TERM 4  —With this term being an action packed 7 short weeks. We are focusing on the Technology process with a Wearable Art context. This week all students have been immersed in a Tuning In day”. The school was humming with many han ds on challenges, desi gning, triallin g and refining. Each class has selected a theme for their w earable art and they a re sounding very interesting! This will culminate in a sharing evening for parents on Tuesday the 6 December 2011. As well as this, we will have a Musical Extravaganza organised by Kate Crowther an d Lou Horo. We are fortunate to have s o many talented students. This will give them an opportunity to showcase their individual creativity. much loved teacher Marie Watts, in a car accident.

Marie was a genuine, warm and caring person.She was a dedicated teacher and provided her 5 year old students with a loving,calm caring manner.

who would like to write a message to the Wattsfamily. Our thoughts and prayers are with themat this very sad and difficult time.
