LIFECARE UK
A huge thank you to all the parents andcarers who came along to the LifeCare UKfundraising event yesterday at NCS. Thecake and snack sale, which was organisedby parents, helped to raise over 320 tosupport children in Syria. It was awonderful event and raised much-neededfunds for a great cause.
BRADFORD CITY TICKETS
After the success of our reduced-priceBradford City tickets last year, the clubhave once again given us a collection ofdiscounted tickets for their home match on16th November 2013 against Coventry.Tickets are priced at 1 for under 11s, 2for under 18s and 5 for adults. If you areinterested in purchasing the tickets, pleasecome down to the office for moreinformation.
CIRCUS TICKETS
In addition to the Bradford City FootballClub tickets, we also have a number offree circus tickets to give away to families.The tickets are for the Circus in Bingley on31st October. The tickets will be given outon a first-come-first-served basis so pleasecome down to the office as soon aspossible if you are interested.
LEADERS OF LEARNING
Last week we appointed our Yr6 LOLs(Leaders of Learning), after a veryinteresting interview process.Congratulations to Sara, Niamh, Amaan,Mark, Claire, Maha, Aidan, Qays,Rihards, Aleena, Huzaifa, Nayla whohave all been appointed.
All the candidates who applied gavebrilliant interview answers and we wishedthat we could have appointed everyone.
The fact that we had so many excellentapplications goes to show how mature,conscientious and kind our Yr6 childrenare. Keep checking the newsletter and theblog to see what the LOLs are getting upto.

RUNNING FOR RESULTS
Our Running for Results children werealso chosen this week. These children,who are all from Yr6, will take part in aspecial running club with Mr Herringtonon Friday afternoons. This will help toraise confidence and determination, aswell as being a way to keep fit andhealthy! The children have all beenfitted with trainers, which they will beallowed to keep at the end of the year.
READING CHALLENGE
Many of our families took part in theSummer Reading Challenge over theholidays, which encouraged children tokeep reading while away from school.Our reading challenges have beenextremely successful and we are reallylooking forward to starting them againthis year with the Autumn ReadingChallenge.
We still, however, have a number ofbooks that have not been returned tothe library after the challenges havefinished. It is very important that allbooks are returned so that we cancontinue to provide an exciting andinteresting library for all our children touse.
E-SAFETY ON THE BLOG
We take e-safety very seriously inschool and always do our best to
protect children when they use theinternet here and at home. As part ofour e-safety policy, all of our blogs nowhave Report a concern buttons, whichchildren can use if they see anythingwhich they find upsetting whilst on theinternet. Children were all giveninformation about the button and howto stay safe on the internet in anassembly this week and they can alsoaccess further information on ourbloghttp://
