Global Conference
Dear Participant,
We are delighted to bring Cool Logistics Global to Bremen and to welcome new and returning attendees
for an event that has established itself as the ‘voice of the international perishables sector’.
We would like to give thanks to our hosts, bremenports, who along with the port community have welcomed
Cool Logistics to this city and major hub of Bremerhaven. Special thanks are also due to all of our other
sponsors and, of course, our expert body of speakers, without whom this event would not be possible.
Our goal in the next few days is to provide a chance for all the stakeholders to come together and discuss
how to build more reliable multimodal perishable supply chains. This is against the backdrop of continued
rapidly changing trade conditions in food, flowers, pharmaceuticals and other perishable goods.
We hope that Cool Logistics Global provides you with a great opportunity to make and renew valuable
business contacts and to compare experiences, expectations and approaches with your fellow attendees.
You are warmly encouraged to engage actively with speakers and participants both during sessions and
social networking events.
Our very best wishes for an enjoyable few days and please don’t hesitate to let us know if there is
anything we can do to help you make the most of your time here.
Kind regards

Bremerhaven is one of Europe’s leading locations for the transhipment of fruit and vegetables, fi sh and seafood, frozen poultry and meat. Every year, more than 250,000 tonnes of temperature-controlled food products are loaded and discharged at two dedicated fruit terminals. Diverse frozen-storage warehouses are available at the terminals.

Global Conference
Welcome to Cool Logistics Global 2016
Dear Delegates,
We extend a warm welcome to the Federal Land of Bremen, the vibrant centre of European perishable
logistics.
As the port management company, we are proud that we have succeeded in attracting the Cool Logistics
Global international conference to our city on the River Weser. This professional event for experts from the
temperature-controlled logistics business now returns to Germany after a gap of six years and will be held in
Bremen for the very first time.
The venue is an excellent choice, as the storage capacities in Bremerhaven, our pronounced expertise in
refrigerated logistics and one of the largest closed container transhipment facilities all make the Federal
Land of Bremen the ideal location for handling temperature-controlled freight. We have special terminals and
refrigerated storage for these sensitive goods and the major markets in Europe can all be reached quickly
from here.
Every year, more than 250,000 tons of fruit and vegetables, fish and seafood as well as frozen meat are
loaded and discharged at two dedicated terminals at Bremerhaven’s Kaiserhafen and at Columbuskaje.
Diverse frozen-storage warehouses, some located right beside the container terminal, take frozen goods
into storage for subsequent distribution to destinations throughout Germany and the rest of Europe.
The Cool Logistics Global Conference at Dorint Park Hotel on 27 and 28 September offers cool logistics
professionals from all over the globe an excellent platform for networking and exchanging know-how.
I wish all attendees interesting and rewarding discussions, a successful conference and a pleasant stay in
Bremen and Bremerhaven.

Containers and cars, general and bulk cargo, dangerous
goods and project cargo – the terminals in Bremen and
Bremerhaven handle practically all kinds of freight. That is
one of the reasons why the ports of Bremen rank amongst the most important universal ports in
Europe. They have excellent overseas and hinterland connections, an efficient cruise terminal,
outstanding logistics expertise, a highly qualified and motivated skilled workforce as well as numerous
opportunities for specialist and advanced training. The division of labour is the key to the success of
the twin ports. Bremerhaven is the port of choice for container vessels, car carriers and refrigerated
fruit carriers and accounts for approx. 80 per cent of the total freight volume handled by the port
group. Bremerhaven is also evolving into a major location for the offshore wind energy industry. The
ports in the city of Bremen, on the other hand, specialise in handling conventional general cargo and
heavy lift, as well as bulk cargo. www.bremenports.de/en
