As the term draws to a conclusion, I can’t help but to reflect on what an incredible
staff, students and community we have here in Hill End.
A wonderful balance of experienced and thoughtful staff provide an education for
our students that is rich in learning experiences. Our immersive classroom program
this term has focussed on Food and Agriculture and in ten short weeks the children
have enjoyed some very special excursions, success at two nearby eisteddfods and
an incredible program of comprehensive lessons and activities.
To our children a huge thank you for your dedication and determination to do your
best to improve your skills each day. It has been a pleasure to teach each and every
one of you this term.
To our parents, family members and community, thank you for your ongoing
support to help the children in developing their skills.
Lastly to the staff, thank you for a great term. Mrs Smyth for helping the
children in planning, rehearsing and performing some wonderful music, dramatic
and poetic items this term. Mrs Rayner for coordinating our topic studies and going
above and beyond what is expected, and to all of the staff for your experience,
input and efforts. I hope that everyone has a happy holiday break, let’s hope for
more rain for everyone! Mr G

Afternoon Tea
Our last week has been very busy with all our usual lessons and finishing of projects
and portfolios. Lauchlan completed literacy and numeracy tests for his placement in
Year 7 next year. We made sure our classroom looked it’s best for our visitors and
today we have cleared out the portal so we have a blank canvas to work on next
term.. Everyone is looking forward to a well earned break during the holidays.
Thanks to our students, Mrs Rayner and Mrs Kimm our guests at
yesterday’s Open Day were treated to a delicious afternoon tea. They had
yummy strawberry cream slices, cup cakes and thanks to our Kindy cooks
they were also treated to scones, jam and cream.
It was great to see all of our parents and carers attend the afternoon.
They were very impressed to see all of the student’s work that has been
created during the term hanging in the portal space and spilling over into
the computer hub area. Most of all though, they were amazed at our
student’s portfolios. During the year students have been selecting their best
works to be placed into their portfolios. Yesterday you could see how proud
they were to show them off to our guests, and they should be proud.
Some of their work is just outstanding! Congratulations on a great term!

School Leader Report - Claire English
We have had a busy term and this is the last week of school. We had an Open Day
yesterday and most of our parents came to look at the portal, our portfolios and
classroom. They also got to hear about the exciting Term 4 excursion.
All Hill End students have had a lovely term.
Little Diggers
Adalyn, Chelsea, Hudson and Imogen had a wonderful time last Friday.
They joined Edmond in an art lesson about fire safety and they also made a fire
truck in craft. They joined our students for some ball games during lunch and
listened to a story in the afternoon. Last Little Diggers for the term is tomorrow.
Kindy Cooks! Our Kindergarten students Edmond and Akadia joined
Mrs Rayner for a cooking lesson yesterday. They made
the delicious scones that were served at afternoon tea.

Wow! From an empty space at the beginning of the term to this incredible, informative, creative space that has
developed. Congratulations students and staff on your amazing work.! It really is like walking into the world of
food and agriculture from our first nation’s methods to the present world of food production. We love it!
