Piano Module Development Kit and Evaluation
Board for SAM2653
Overview
2653PIA-DK is a high quality stand-alone evaluation board based on SAM2653 (INTEGRATED DIGITAL MUSIC INSTRUMENT) dedicated to digital piano and keyboard instruments. Beside the SAM2653 the 2653PIA-DK_Rev0 hardware includes: 1 Audio CODEC: AKM AK4556 (24bit | ADC: S/N=103dB, S/N+D=91dB | DAC: S/N=106dB, S/N+D=90dB) 256Mbit Flash Memory: NUMONYX M29W256GL70 1Mbit SRAM (optional): CYPRESS CY62126EV30LL (64k*16) for debug or extended features. DataFlash memory ATMEL AT45DB011D for saved sequencer and data storage. SD-Card socket
Hardware Configuration
This reference design kit also includes a front panel. It is designed to be connected to an 88-note velocity sensitive piano keyboard.
Operating Mode
2653PIA-DK operates on two modes: Debug mode:
The board is connected to a PC through the Dream USB-DBG-IF adaptor. The firmware can be downloaded and debugged into SRAM memory with SamVS-C emulation tool. With software tools, it is also possible to program the firmware in flash memory for stand alone mode.
Stand-alone mode: In this mode the SAM2653 executes the program from the Flash memory and scans the front panel and the piano keyboard. Optionally, firmware and all other flash data can be updated from this mode.
