POWER SUPPLYThe FX1000 is powered through theUSB cablefrom a computer or from the power adapterAC/DC “ADS 0510/USB” ( Vdc=5,2V / I =1A).Such equipment is compliance with the national andinternationalStandardsonelectricalsafety.InsertthejackintheDC 5,2VsocketAlternatively,anotherAC/DCadaptercanbeused,aslongasithasthesamenominal valuesof thoseof the adapter suppliedwiththeequipment,withthesameorbetterfeatures.

RECOMMENDATION:Thenetworksocketmustbeeasilyaccessibletobeabletoconnecttheadapter’splug.

What is MIDI?TheacronymMIDIistheabbreviationof"MusicalInstrumentDigitalInterface"andrepresentsastan-dardforthetransmissionofdataviacablesbetweenanelectronicmusicalinstrumentandapersonalcomputeroranotherelectronicmusicalinstrument.

The General Midi (GM) systemThisexpanderadoptstheGeneralMidi(GM)system,astandardwhichallowsuserstoreceiveorsenddatainMIDIformattoapersonalcomputerortoanotherkeyboardwithoutcompatibilityproblemsbetweenmusicalinstrumentsofdifferentbrands.TheFX1000 isequippedwithaUSB-MIDIplugforconnectiontothepersonalcomputerandwithaMIDI-InsockettoreceiveMIDIdatafromakeyboardoraMIDIdevicewithaMIDIOutsocket.TheconnectiontakesplaceusingtheUSB cable(supplied)oraMIDI cable(notsupplied)asshowninthenextexamples.

Procedure to connect FX1000 to the computerPriorconnectingFX1000toPC,makesurethatthecomputerisswitchedon.Carryouttheconnectionwiththecablesupplied.Afterafewseconds,aseriesofmessageswillappearonthecomputer:

Atthispoint,FX1000iscorrectlyconnectedandrecognisedbythecomputer.

FARFISA VINTAGE“Farfisa Vintage” programInthe'60syearsFARFISAproducedmanymusicalinstrumentsthatcontributedtomakethehistoryofmusic.Withthe"Compact"orwiththe"synthorchestra"playedthemostfamouskeyboardplayersandthemostfamousmusicalgroups.TodayFARFISAusesnewadvanceddigitaltechnologiestoreproduceancientsounds."FarfisaVintage"isaprogramwrittentoprovideeasyaccesstothe"Vintage"soundscontainedwithintheexpanderFX1000.

Downloading and installing "Farfisa Vintage"1. InDownloadssectionofthesitewww.farfisa.eupleasedownloadtheprogram"FarfisaVintage.exe".2. Runtheprogramandfollowtheinstructionsforautomaticinstallation.3. After the installation inWindows Program menu a sub-folder "Farfisa" will appear. The link to

"FarfisaVintage"willallowyoutolaunchtheprogram.

Startup and configurationBefore you launch "Farfisa Vintage"please close all applications on PCsusingMIDIdevices.Connect your PC to FX1000 by theincludedUSBcableConnect a MIDI keyboard to theFX1000,takingcaretoselecttheMIDIOUTsocketonthekeyboard.

Warning:onthekeyboardmidioutputchannelshouldbe1.

Launchtheprogram"VintageFarfisa.Awindowappearsasshown.

In the menu "Midi Out" select "USBSpeaker"(or"FX1000"inWindows7)

Press the icon "COMBOCOMPACT": itwillbehighlightedbyayellowframePlayingonthekeyboard:youwillhearthesound"Vintage"ofFarfisaComboCompact.Pressingothericons(DRAWBARS,SYNTH,GENERALMIDI):othersectionsofFX1000willbeenabled.

Farfisa Combo CompactThe "Farfisa Combo Compact" was one of themost famous and best-selling keyboard of the'60s.Withthe"Compact"playedthemostfamouskey-boardplayersandthemostfamousgroups.Today,withmoderntechnology,Farfisaproposesthesoundsofanorganthatmadethehistoryofmusic.To call the function "COMPACT" press the icon"COMBO COMPACT.Awindowappearsasshown.

Farfisa Drawbars and RotatorAnothertypeofverypopularorgansinthe'60swasthe"Drawbars"organ.Ina"Drawbars"organseveralsinusoidsofdifferentfrequenciesaresummed.Thistypeofsoundgene-ration allows amaximum of 16.777.216 combina-tions.Often to the "Drawbars" organs a sound systemconsistingofrotatingspeakerswasassociated.Becauseoftheinertiaoftherotatingsystemofthespeakers, the transition from low speed to highspeedrotationoccurredgradually.

Farfisa Synth Sound MakerThe"Synth"sectioninFX1000reproducestheper-formanceofa '70sanalogsynthesizerwithdigitaltechnology.The controls of the synthesizer are divided intothree parts: "Oscillator 1 ", "Oscillator 2 " and"GeneralParameters".

Farfisa General MidiThe "GeneralMidi" sectionhasbeendesigned toallowacompletecontrolofFX1000throughagra-phicalinterface.

7. TROUBLE SHOOTING GUIDEPROBLEM

No sound is produced when reproducing MIDIdatafromacomputer.

There is some noise when a mobile phone isused.

Anyotheranomalies.

POSSIBLE CAUSE AND SOLUTIONThe USB-MIDI cable has not been connected correctly. Properly connect the UBS-MIDI cable. Correctly set MINI DEVICE.

Using a mobile phone near the equipment may cause interference. In order to avoid this problem, deactivate the mobile phone or use it away from the equipment.

Disconnect and reconnect the USB cable

10. Theadaptormustbe connecteddirectly to themains supplywithoutanyotherplugs.

11. Donotobstructtheairentrypointsofthefee-derwithobjectssuchascurtains,cloths,etc.

15. Ensurethattheadapterissufficientlyventi-lated and that the ventilation slits are notcovered with objects such as newpapers,tablecloths,curtains,etc..

16. Donotexposetheproductortheadaptortodropsorspraysofanykindofliquid.

17. Thisproductshouldbereferredtoanappro-ved service centre when: a) It has beenexposed to rain. b) It appears to operateincorrectly or shows a marked change inperformance. c) It has been dropped or ifthe case has been damaged. d) Objectshavefallenintotheinstrumentorliquidhasbeenspiltintooroverit.e)TheAC/DCadap-torhasbeendamaged.

18. Never attempt to repair your instrumentyourself. Any operation should be referredtoauthorizedpersonnel,otherwisethegua-ranteewillbedeclaredvoid.

19. Donotusealcohol,solventsorsimilarchemi-cal substances for cleaning. Use a soft clothdampened in a bland solution of water andneutral detergent. Dip the cloth in the solu-tionandthenwringituntilitisnearlydry.

8. MAINTENANCE AND REMARKSWhen using electrical products, basic precau-tionsmustbefollowed,includingthefollowing: 1. Read all the instructions before using the

product. 2. Whentheproductisusedbychildren,super-

visionbyanadultisadvised. 3. Do not use the product near water, for

examplenearabathtub,washbowl,kitchensink, or near a swimmingpool etc., or in awetorhumidbasement.

4. Whenconnectingtothemainssupplyensu-rethat:a) your hands are

not wet (toavoid electricshocks);

b)donotpullonthecable. 5. The external amplification is capable of

generating sound levels that may perma-nently damage hearing. Do not operate itfor a long period of time at high volumelevels or in any case at an uncomfortablevolume level. Especially when using head-phones,alwaysmoderatethevolume.

6. Theproductshouldbepositionedsothatit’slocationwillprovideadequateventilation.

7. The product should be positioned awayfromheatsourcessuchasradiators,heatersorotherproductsthatproduceheat.

8. Thisproductshouldonlybeconnectedtoapowersupplyofthevoltagecorrespondingto that shown on the label on the instru-ment using an AC/DC adaptor. This label,containing all electrical data, relevantwar-ningmessagesandthe instrument identifi-cationdata,canbefoundontheundersideoftheproduct.

7. SOLUZIONE DEI PROBLEMIPROBLEMA

Nessunsuonovieneprodottoquandosiriprodu-conoidatiMIDIdauncomputer.

POSSIBILE CAUSA E SOLUZIONEIl cavo USB-MIDI non è collegato correttamente. Collegare appropriatamente il cavo USB-MIDI. Impostare MIDI DEVICE correttamente.

L’uso del cellulare vicino allo strumento può produrre interferenze. Per prevenire tale problema, disattivate il cellulare o usatelo lontano dallo strumento.

Scollegare il cavo USB e ricollegarlo.

10. L’adattatore AC/DC deve esserecollegato diretta-mente alla presadirete:noninterporrealtreprese.

17. L'expander deve essere portato presso uncentroassistenzase:

5. L’amplificazioneesternaèingradodigene-rare livelli sonori tali da provocare dannipermanenti all’udito. Non operate per lun-ghiperiodiadaltovolume.Inspecialmodo,nell’ascolto in cuffia, moderare sempre ilvolume.

Se avvertite un calo dell’udito consultateimmediatamenteunospecialista.
