Installation Overview

The KTM application involves installing a control switch on the handle bars at the left hand grip.It also involves installing an interface harness that ties into the CAN communication circuits and the Throttle by Wire circuits.

Basic Installation Instruction

1. Disconnect the negative side of the battery located under the seat. For ease of routing theharness, we recommend removal of the battery altogether

2. Remove the Fuel Tank. Consult owner’s manual or online videos for removal instructions

3. Remove the 2 screws securing the left rear trim cover as shown below (red arrows)

5. Lift the factory ECU off the mounting tray and let it hang by the harness safely out of the way.Remove the mounting tray by unfastening the 2 screws (red arrows) as shown below.

6. Locate the OBD-II connector underneath the mounting tray. If you have the KTM factoryOff-Road dongle plugged in to the ODB-II connector, go ahead and disconnect it for now.You can reconnect it to the Cruise Control harness once installed.

7. Route the Cruise Control harness from the storage compartment underneath the seat supportalong the left side of the bike behind the left rear side panel. It will help to pull the rubberfuse holder out of the way to make room for the connectors to clear the frame.

8. Continue to run the harness along the left side frame on up to the front of the bike. You’llwant to guide the small control switch wires underneath the air duct so the can easily reachthe handlebars when installing the control switch. The Throttle Harness wires should berouted above the air duct to just behind the steering tube.

8. Locate the OEM Throttle Harness connector mounted just behind the steering tube. Pull theconnector to the right side of the bike and separate the two halves.

9. Plug in the T-Harness from the Cruise Control kit, then tuck the pair of connectors neatlyback underneath the frame behind the steering tube.

10. Mount the control switch on the handlebars as desired. Route the wires down along the hy-draulic clutch hose and connect them to the Cruise Control harness.

11. Tuck the Cruise Control Module back in the tail section of the bike. Secure it with Zip-Tiestot he factory wire harness as needed.

12. Re-install the battery, ECU mounting tray and ECU. Carefully inspect the harness to insureit does not interfere with any other parts on the bike. Secure the harness to the frame usingZip-Ties as needed. Power on the bike without starting the engine. Press the center buttonon the Control Switch to turn on the Cruise Control. The Red LED should light indicatingthat everything is installed correctly.

Basic Cruise Control Operation

With the Cruise Control power turned on (center button) the blue light will be visible. At speedsabove 25mph (40kph) you can select either of the Set buttons to engage the Cruise Control. Forfine tuning hold in the top button will increase the cruise speed setting in small increments. Holdingin the bottom button will reduce the speed setting in equally small increments. To disengage orcancel the Cruise Control press the center power button. Additionally either of the brakes as wellas the clutch will disengage the cruise control. For safety reasons there is no resume feature.
