Day 1: Australia - - Hanoi Today depart Australia for Vietnam! We will pick you up at airport then transfer to the hotel. The rest of day is at your leisure. We recommend you to take a slow walk around Hoan Kiem Lake, which is very scenic, so remember to bring your camera. Please note, some flights might arrive late on the first day Day 2: Hanoi - - Sapa (B,L) This morning we head out on an in-depth city tour of Hanoi. Visit Tran Quoc Pagoda, a 1400 year-old temple, the oldest in the city and is located near West Lake offering a watery landscape, the pagoda is a very scenic attraction. The next destination is the Ho Chi Minh Complex, where you have chance to visit President Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, Uncle Ho's House and the One-pillar pagoda – a very iconic temple in Vietnam. We then head to the Temple of Literature, here education and study is centre point. After lunch, we will explore Ngoc Son Temple (Temple of Jade Mountain) dedicated to Confucian and Taoist philosophers and the national hero Tran Hung Dao. The temple with its famous Huc Bridge is in the centre of Hoan Kiem (Sword) Lake. After the tour we head to the Twins Hotel for a quick stop to relax and freshen up before making our way to the train station for our overnight trip to Sapa. Day 3: Sapa (B) Today we arrive into Sapa early. Upon arrival you are transferred to your hotel. Today is at leisure to wander the streets of Sapa, with its incredible outlook over the terraced rice fields of the Muong Hoa Valley. For stunning scenery you must get out to the Tram Ton Pass 15km from Sapa. At 1900m is the highest in Vietnam and connects Sapa to Lai Chau. All around you are surrounded by almost vertical rice terraces and stunning mountain peaks with regular mists hovering on them. The 100m high Thac Bac waterfall on the same route is spectacular. Day 1: Australia - - Hanoi

Today depart Australia for Vietnam! We will pick you up at airport then transfer to

the hotel. The rest of day is at your leisure. We recommend you to take a slow walk

around Hoan Kiem Lake, which is very scenic, so remember to bring your camera.

Please note, some flights might arrive late on the first day

Day 2: Hanoi - - Sapa (B,L)

This morning we head out on an in-depth city tour of Hanoi. Visit Tran Quoc Pagoda,

a 1400 year-old temple, the oldest in the city and is located near West Lake offering a

watery landscape, the pagoda is a very scenic attraction. The next destination is the

Ho Chi Minh Complex, where you have chance to visit President Ho Chi Minh’s

Vietnam. We then head to the Temple of Literature, here education and study is centre

Day 4: Sapa - - Hanoi (B)

This morning awake to another free day to explore Sapa on your own before being

transferred to the train station at around 17:00 for an overnight sleeper train back to Hanoi.

Day 5: Hanoi - Halong Bay (B,L,D)

Upon arrival will be picked and then transferred to Twins hotel for breakfast and rest

before getting picked up. Today we head for Halong Bay! Enjoy the journey through the

Red River Delta with lush rice fields, water buffalos and everyday Vietnamese rural life.

After we arrive in Halong, we will check-in for our overnight cruise and relax for a while.

Then we lift anchor and sail to visit Sung Sot caves where we have one hour for kayaking

between the limestone spires. Afterwards we set sail the explore this UNESCO Heritage

region. As the sun sets over the bay, dinner is served on board with a huge selection of

fresh seafood, salads, and fruits. There will also be a cooking class on board, where you can

learn to cook some basic Vietnamese dishes or simply watch the sun slip away with a cool

drink on the deck.

Day 6: Halong Bay - Hanoi (B,L)

The beautiful sunrise on Halong bay should never be missed, especially if you are into

photography. Start the new day with a on deck Tai chi session (if you are keen on), or sleep

in. Breakfast will be served on the boat after which you’ll have more time to enjoy the view

before a wholesome brunch as your boat weaves through the magnificent limestone karst

formations on your return towards Halong City. Upon disembarkation, we will head back

to Hanoi with a stop at a local workshop in Hai Duong province for a lunch break. Once

we arrive in Hanoi the rest of the evening is at leisure.

Day 7: Hanoi (B)

Today is a free day to relax at leisure. Why not head to the old quarter and explore the

streets dedicated to particular crafts or sit back and relax on a traditional cyclo tour (at own

expense).

Day 8: Hanoi - - Hoi An (B)

You will have free time this morning until your airport transfer for your flight to Hoi An.

On arrival, you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel with the evening at leisure

to explore Hoi An.

Day 9: Hoi An (B)

Today is at leisure. Hoi An is a city on Vietnam’s central coast known for its well-preserved

Ancient Town, cut through with canals and spectacular beach front. Hoi An is recognised

as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Why not relax on the beach, or wander the ancient

streets.

Day 10: Hoi An - Hue (B)

This morning there is free time to for last might sightseeing or simply unwinding before a

private transfer to Hue in the afternoon. Along the way there are plenty of photo

opportunities you have the choice of stopping at. A must would be Hai Van Pass, Lang Co

Beach and Table Mountain. Feel free to discuss with driver or head straight to Hue. Upon

arrive check-in to the hotel. The rest of the evening is at leisure to discover the town on

your own.

Day 11: Hue (B,L)

Today we explore Hue the former imperial capital of Vietnam. Take a boat trip on the

romantically named Perfume River and visit Hue’s best-known religious sites and Dong Ba

Market – see the local daily life, Thien Mu Pagoda – the oldest pagoda in the town. Then

continue to discover Imperial Citadel from where the Nguyen’s Dynasty ruled between

1802 and 1945 including Flag Tower, Noon Gate, Nine Dynastic Urns, Nine Holy Cannons,

Thai Hoa Palace, and Forbidden Purple City. We then stop for a Vietnamese lunch at a

local restaurant. The afternoon continues with a visit to the elaborate tombs of emperors

Minh Mang and Khai Dinh. This tour gives you a deep understanding about King’s

philosophy of geomancy and how this affected royal life.

Day 12: Hue – - Ho Chi Minh City (B,D)

After breakfast, we leave Hue for Da Nang airport to fly to Ho Chi Minh City. Upon arrival

you will be transferred to the hotel. Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) is Vietnam at its most diz-

zying: a high-octane city of commerce and culture that has driven the whole country for-

ward with its pulsating energy. A chaotic whirl, the city breathes life and vitality into all

who settle here – visitors cannot help but be hauled along for the ride. This evening, enjoy a

dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 13: Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels (B)

This morning take a step back in time and revisit the military history of the area. Visit the

Cu Chi Tunnels, built by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the Vietnam War. Part of a

larger network, the tunnels were used by Viet Cong guerrillas as hiding spots during com-

bat. They also served as communication and supply routes, hospitals, weapons caches and

living quarters for numerous guerrilla fighters. Afterwards we head back to Hoi Chi Minh

City where the rest of the evening is at leisure.

Day 14: Ho Chi Minh City – My Tho (B,D)

Drive to My Tho Port and board your river ship for a relaxing journey aboard the luxurious

RV La Marguerite. Enjoy lunch as your ship sets off. Tonight, enjoy a Welcome Dinner with

your fellow passengers.

Day 15: Cai Be, Sa Dec (B,L,D)

Visit Cai Be and go ashore to see the town’s cathedral and port area. Drop in on a rice pa-

per manufacturer to learn how rice paper is made. You’ll then take a boat ride to Sa Dec for

a guided tour. Later, return to your ship for a delicious dinner.

Day 16: Tan Chau (B,L,D)

Go ashore for a rickshaw tour of Tan Chau and take a small-boat ride to discover rural life

on an island. The rest of today is then spent on board. This afternoon, perhaps attend a

fruit-carving demonstration while border formalities are carried out. Cross into Cambodia

and cruise overnight towards the capital, Phnom Penh.

Day 17: Phnom Penh (B,L,D)

Today begins your exploration of the city of Phnom Penh, and its sights. After breakfast,

take an excursion to the infamous Killing Fields, before visiting the Tuol Sleng Genocide

Museum, located on the site of the Khmer Rouge’s notorious Security Prison 21 (S-21).

Learn of the atrocities inflicted upon Cambodians during Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge regime in

the 1970s. After lunch on board, disembark and enjoy a tour.Visit the spectacular Royal

Palace and delight in its dazzling white and gold architecture. Then head to the Silver

Pagoda, set on the south side of the palace complex.

Day 18: Phnom Penh, Koh Chen (B,L,D)

Enjoy leisure time to explore Phnom Penh. Relax aboard your luxury ship or discover more

of the city’s sights. Later, cruise to Koh Chen, a village specialising in silver and

copperware.

Day 19: Oudong, Kampong Tralach (B,L,D)

Disembark in Prek K’dam and take a coach to Oudong. Like a Local - Here, receive a

traditional Buddhist blessing by monks, sure to be a highlight of your Mekong River cruise.

Afterwards, continue to Kampong Tralach for a visit to Wat Kampong Tralach Pleu. Like a

Local - Get a taste of living just like the locals do with an ox-cart ride through rice fields

and a village back to your ship.

Day 20: Kampong Chhnang (B,L,D)

Enjoy a small-boat excursion into the wetlands near Kampong Chhnang this morning.

Then return to your ship and journey to Prek K’dam. This evening, enjoy a Farewell Dinner

on board.

Day 21: Prek K’dam, Siem Reap (B)

Disembark your ship in Prek K’dam and transfer to Siem Reap. This afternoon, visit the

incredible historic landmark of Angkor Archaeological Park and explore its ancient

wonders. This amazing World Heritage-listed park contains the remains of different

Khmer empire capitals. Visit iconic landmarks including the 13th-century temple Bayon.

Special Stay - enjoy an indulgent and relaxing stay at the prestigious Shinta Mani Resort in

Siem Reap.

Day 22: Angkor Wat (B,D)

Enhance Your Journey: This morning, perhaps select one of Travelmarvel’s optional

experiences. Later, visit Ta Prohm, a temple famous for its intertwined trees. Like a Local -

visit Opportunities of Development thru Art (ODA), which provides support and

education for underprivileged children. This evening, cap off the day with a spectacular

sunset over Angkor Wat, also located within the Angkor Archaeological Park before a

Farewell Dinner. After dinner, witness a magnificent performance of traditional Apsara

dance.

Day 23: Siem Reap – - Australia

Transfer to the airport for your flight home.

Day 24: Australia

Arrive home today.
