Best Practice – New features 2010

• Some of the key features that have been recently added or updated:

• Hyperlinks within notes - You can now add hyperlinks into the ‘Notes’ section that sits within the monograph pages. Institutional administrators can also use this feature to link notes on behalf of their organisation.

• Dates added to Clinical Evidence reviews - You will now be able to see the publication date and search date for all Clinical Evidence content within Best Practice. These dates will be shown if you access the stand alone Clinical Evidence content and also if you access Clinical Evidence via the ‘Evidence’ tab from within in the individual Best Practice monographs.

• Guidelines added to Assessment monographs - A ‘Guidelines’ tab has been added to the Assessment monographs in Best Practice. Institutional administrators can also add their own guidelines to these Assessment monographs on behalf of their organisation.

• BP Search Enhancements:

• 'Auto-suggest' drop-down search. Prompts users with monograph titles, displayable synonyms and drug names.

• Updated search engine library further increases reliability and performance

• Adjusted synonym processing leads to better relevance ranking

• Ability to search by ICD-10 and ICPC-2 drug codes, producing list of matching monographs.

• 'Clinical Evidence' topic headings now included as a possible search result

• Video and sample screenshots removed from home page, to greatly improve performance speed. Video now has its own page, linked from "Take a Tour".

• ‘Clinical Evidence’ content accessible directly from the Best Practice homepage

• Nominated National Administrator can upload information using 'Add Notes' functionality (originally requested by Helsebiblioteket in Norway)

• ‘Treatment’ tab displays changed: "step 1 of 2"; "step 2 of 2“ removed & changed to "First select your patient group" and "Now select a treatment" to avoid possible end user confusion
