CHALLENGE

Since inception in 1993, it is always a big dream of UCMAS to give all global learners an

opportunity to pit their powerful mental calculation skills in speed and precision against

each other on a digital platform. This Online Open Challenge will gather global

challengers from around the world to push their limits & to vie for top honours.

UCMAS ONLINE OPEN CHALLENGE


UCMAS Online Open Challenge is a whole new exciting online challenge, which brings the

physical competition in front of your laptops or desktop computers to compete with the

world.

The names of all participants shall be ranked in the World Score Chart and their respective

Country Ranking Table.

2) UCMAS ONLINE OPEN CHALLENGE QUESTION STURCTURE

a) This is an Age-Based Online Challenge open to UCMAS & Non-UCMAS participants.

b) Time limit for each Category is 3 minutes.

c) There shall consist only Addition & Subtraction Questions.

d) There are altogether 100 questions.

e) All questions shall be displayed in sequential order according to the question structure. [Please refer

to 2 (g) for more details]. After keying-in answer for each question, students are required to press

“ENTER” to proceed to the next question.

f) Each addition/subtraction question carries ten (10) marks.

g) The question structure for CATEGORY Age: 5 till 8 shall be displayed in sequential order as follows:-

a. 10 questions -21 digits 13 rows (3 digits-non formula)

b. 10 questions -21 digits 14 rows (4 digits)

d. 10 questions 1-2 digits 15 rows (6 digits)

e. 05 questions 1-2 digits 15 rows (8 digits)

2) UCMAS ONLINE OPEN CHALLENGE QUESTION STURCTURE [cont.]

a) All participants shall receive E-CERTIFICATES certified by UCMAS International Headquarters.

Allocation of prizes for each category is as follows:-

- Grand Champion [1 winner]

- Champion [3 winners]

- 1st Runner-up [10 winners]

- 2nd Runner-up [50 winners]

- 3rd Runner-up

b) Each participant is guaranteed to receive at least a 3rd Runner-up E-Certificate provided he/she

participated and attained scores in the challenge.

c) All E-Certificates shall be emailed over to their respective registered email addresses (Participants are

required to provide their valid email addresses during the registration).

d) In addition to E-Certificate, all winners shall also be entitled to receive UCMAS course fee E-vouchers

as follows:-

- Grand Champion [100% discount on UCMAS course fee for one year]

- Champion [70% discount on UCMAS course fee for one year]

- 1st Runner-up [50% discount on UCMAS course fee for six months]

- 2nd Runner-up [30% discount on UCMAS course fee for six months]

- 3rd Runner-up

e) All E-Vouchers shall be emailed to the winners through their registered email address. All E-vouchers

are not redeemable for cash and they are not transferable.

f) All E-vouchers are valid until the expiry date mentioned on the vouchers.

g) All winners shall be bound by the terms and conditions stated on the E-Vouchers.

a) Age calculation: (Year 2020 minus (-) Year of birth)

b) Maximum of one category to be registered by each participant.

Important note:

Any participant, who is found to be admitted into other lower categories of challenge, shall be immediately

disqualified. Participants shall be solely responsible for all the information submitted and registrations

made. UCMAS international headquarters will not entertain nor be responsible for any disputes,

complaints and appeals arising from any such disqualification.

4) UCMAS ONLINE OPEN CHALLENGE AGE CALCULATION

a) Registrations shall be open from 15TH MAY 2020 (12:00 noon GMT+8).

b) All registrations can be made through the following methods:

i) SELF-REGISTRATION THROUGH ucmaschallenge.com PORTAL

Participants may complete their registrations through the link here: ucmaschallenge.com and submit

their registration fee payments accordingly.

** If participants opt for this method of registration, the closing date shall be on 30TH JUNE 2020 (12:00

noon GMT+8).

c) UCMAS International Headquarters reserves the rights to disqualify any participants whose

information provided is found to be false or incorrect, regardless of whether it is intentionally or

unintentionally. Participants shall be solely responsible for all the information submitted and

UCMAS International Headquarters will not entertain nor be in anyway responsible for any

disputes, complaints and appeals arising from any such disqualification.

a) UCMAS International Headquarters reserves the rights to make amendments to the rules &

regulations. Further notice will be issued should there be any changes on this. Please feel free to

contact UCMAS International Headquarters for any further enquiries or clarifications.

b) Participants can access to the demo version of UCMAS Online Challenge at this link

exam.ucmas.com and start to have their practice session. The login credentials are as follows:

Username: [email protected]

Password: 1234*the demo version shall be invalid on 30th June 2020

c) This is a web-based Online Open Challenge and the Organizer is not responsible if participants are

experiencing any internet/network connection or any other related issues during this Online

Challenge.

d) All participants are advised to use Laptops or Desktop Computers when participating this Online

Challenge.

e) In the event there is a tie in the overall scores for each category, the jury will rank the participants

based on their Months and Days of birth, with 31st December 2020 (365days) minus (-) the Months

and Days of birth of the Participants (to be converted into number of days), in which contestants

with the least number of days shall be declared as the winner. (Please use this web

Example: Albert : [D.O.B is 15 Jan 2015] & Jane : [D.O.B is 20 Dec 2015]

Albert : 315 days & Jane : 11 days

Under this Tie scenario, Jane shall be declared as the winner!!!

f) All winners shall be notified by email from UCMAS International HQ to provide their proof of

information [any in clause ‘g’ below] before the official results are released. If any winners fail to do

so, they shall be deemed to voluntarily withdraw from this Online Challenge.

g) All participants shall be required to ready any of the below documents as proof of their birth

information when requested by the UCMAS International HQ after the Online Challenge is held (before

the official results are released) in which the proof of birth information shall keep strictly confidential

and shall not be disclosed. All requisition for proof of birth information shall be sent officially from

UCMAS own email account [email protected] to the participants:

g.1) Either passport;

g.2) Either birth certificate;

g.3) Either national ID

h) The final ranking results shall be emailed to the respective Country National Franchisees and an

official International results shall be released and published on ucmaschallenge.com.

i) UCMAS Online Open Challenge shall commence on 11th July 2020 from 0.00am @ 00:00hours

(Malaysian Time GMT+8) and shall end on 11th July 2020 at 11.59pm @ 23:59 hours (Malaysian Time

GMT+8)

j) All displays of questions shall be automatically stopped at the end of 3 minutes or when students

have completed answering all 100 questions before the end of the time limit (3 minutes).

k) Each participant is only allowed to compete ONCE and there is NO UNDO or RESTART button once

the START Button is clicked. All participants are advised to familiar with the system by logging on to

the system and do the PRACTISE questions provided (once registrations have been made).

l) The results shall be released on 14th JULY 2020 (9.00pm @ 21:00 hours GMT+8) as soon as all

relevant information of winners have been verified (Failing to do so, the winners concerned shall be

deemed to voluntarily withdraw from this Online Challenge). The decisions of the jury panel is final

and no further correspondence will be entertained.

a) Each participant is required to pay a registration fee of USD9.00 (US Dollars Nine).

b) Registration fee must be made in full upon submission of registration & is not refundable, therefore

participants is advise to test the demo version before making the decision.
